Job Opportunities at the Cell Therapy Catapult The Cell Therapy Catapult is a centre of excellence for regenerative medicine. Its vision is for the UK to be a global leader in the development, delivery and commercialisation of cell therapy, and a place where businesses can start, and confidently grow. Based in London at Guy's Hospital, the centre plans to take products into early clinical trials, providing clinical, technical, manufacturing and regulatory expertise and access to the NHS. The Chief Operating Officer is currently looking to recruit a number of high calibre individuals into the Programme Management team. The Role We are looking to recruit tomorrow s leaders in the Cell Therapy field. The role will be high profile, both within the organisation and outward facing to clients. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals to further develop their skills and expertise across the entire sector. The role will be high energy, and cover a full range of activities across the different stages of development, manufacturing, clinical, regulatory and business development. The primary focus of the CT Catapult will be to progress, in a structured, rapid and cost effective way, promising cell therapies, normally through to the point of conclusion of early clinical activity in man i.e. to successful conclusion of Phase 2 trials with a credible plan to move to Phase 3. The Programme Manager will be part of a five to eight person Programme Management (PM) Team charged with managing multidisciplinary programmes through to conclusion. The PM team will provide excellent peer support and act as a conduit to interpersonal idea and skill exchange to ensure best practice within the organisation The PM will take full responsibility for the day to day management of the assigned projects, and in addition, will:- Work closely with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure successful delivery of project outputs to schedule and within budget. Develop detailed work breakdown structures and project plans to ensure delivery of agreed outcomes, working closely with clients and the executive team. Set budgets for programmes and agree costs with COO and CCO. Identify appropriate knowledge resource within and external to the CTC to generate coherent project plans. Identify and coordinate suitable resource to deliver on projects Work with executive team to ensure correct deliverables, targets and milestones are set. Adapt to situations to ensure correct project delivery High level of communication to all stakeholders; within project team, the executive and to client company This will be a highly visible role across the CT Catapult and the new PMs will be able to impact substantially the future success of the Centre. Purpose The position of PM for the Cell Therapy Catapult (CT Catapult) is one of multidisciplinary programme management, highly visible to the executive and the senior management team, who collaboratively will generate project plans and budgets, and be expected to deliver upon these structured development programmes for promising cell therapy technologies.

The Key Accountabilities are:- Write detailed programme of works, scope out resource needs, compile budgets and spend forecasts. Write grant applications, both singularly in within consortia. Co-ordinate resource to ensure delivery of projects Clear reporting to stakeholders Negation on collaborative and service contracts Adaptability to deal with problems and communicate well Reporting The PM reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer for CT Catapult. Person Profile We are looking for a high calibre individual who is passionate about helping to develop a sustainable Cell Therapy Sector in the UK and who wants to play a pivotal role in delivering new therapies to the clinic. The PM will be educated to higher degree level in a life science subject. They will also have:- Post-doctoral experience within the life science sector. Additional experience of project management through working in either: biotech, biopharma, CMO, CRO, clinical trials or supply chain. A flexible approach to work assignments. Business Development Executive As part of this project we have a requirement for a commercial business development executive who will be responsible for maintaining the relationship between the Cell Therapy Catapult and the cell therapy Industry and ensuring a flow of high quality projects for execution by the Catapult operational teams. Specific areas of responsibility will include; Supporting the manager of the department in making sure the industry clearly understands the purpose of the Catapult and the opportunity it presents for them. Supporting with the Identification and negotiation of projects which the Cell Therapy Catapult can execute to drive the growth of the industry. Working with universities and smaller organisations and managing internal technical experts within Cell Therapy on projects to ensure smooth and successful tech transfer frameworks and timescales are in place and adhered to. The role will be responsible, in partnership with the relevant Catapult business unit, for the negotiation and agreement of contracts covering all

aspects of a long-term working relationship and so will be pivotal in the management of Intellectual Property. Key Duties will include Ensuring IP and all legal aspects are secure, providing a strong basis for project delivery Negotiating contract terms, pricing and payment schedule, ensuring that the agreements with the customers are commercially advantageous Assessing the quotations submitted and participate in selecting the bidders with which the commercial/financial negotiations may be conducted Utilising a background in Life Sciences, develop and deliver a strategy that captures, and regularly reviews, all Catapult contracts. Leading on the legal and Intellectual Property clauses of any contract. Managing input from external professional advisors as required. Marketing Manager As part of this project we require a Marketing Manager who will have a deep understanding of the Life Sciences market, ideally Cell Therapy, and be responsible for developing and maintaining marketing strategies that establish and maintain the Cell Therapy Catapult as a thought leader within the global cell therapy industry. In addition you will have responsibilities for the following; Making sure the industry clearly understand the purpose of the Catapult and the opportunity it presents for them. Lead on the identification, creation and delivery of market leading publications. Managing the entire life cycle from strategic planning to future activities. Cell Therapy Catapult HR Manager The role Reporting into the CEO, the successful applicant will play a key role as HR Manager with both the establishment of the new organisation and the day-to-day operations of the Cell Therapy Catapult. The Catapult has recently completed Phase 1 recruitment of the Executive Team and senior managers; and is starting on the Phase 2 recruitment plan focusing on specialist scientific and clinical roles and managers. The current recruitment plan aims to have approximately 100 staff in post by 2017/18 in several phases. Whilst managing the recruitment process and being part of interview panels, the role will also be responsible for developing a long term HR strategy to support the growth of the Catapult and delivery of business objectives. The role has responsibility for efficient and effective management of HR policies and processes. Initially the chosen individual will provide HR Generalist support to the business in a strategic and operational manner. This will evolve and the balance will shift from the transactional to more of a business partnering approach.
