The top 16 entered relays in each relay event will qualify to swim in the preliminaries. These qualifiers must have achieved their submitted time at an approved State Qualifying Invitational to be entered into the state meet. Boys & Girls diving provisional standard is 225. Divisions I & II will qualify 32 individuals and 24 relay teams per event. Pre-Meet Meeting For Div. I & II Swim & Dive Coaches There will be a head swim coaches meeting on Wednesday, November 2, 2016. The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. at the NORTH HIGH SCHOOL CAFETERIA. Coach and swimmer credentials will be distributed at this meeting, as well as any other important information, which may not be included in this guide or previously available. North High School 1101 East Thomas Road (South side of the street) (12 th Street and Thomas) Enter the school off of Thomas at the gate near the marquee. You will be entering what is called the horseshoe parking lot...park anywhere in or near that area.from the horseshoe parking lot, walk due South toward the auditorium (with the horse on top).the cafeteria is to the left (East) of the auditorium. 5

Deck Credential Policy & Distribution Information Updated: 10/19/16 rh Pre-Meet Meeting For Div. III Swim & Dive Coaches There will be a head swim coaches meeting on Tuesday November 1, 2016. The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. at the Phoenix Country Day. The number of credentials being distributing to coaches and how qualified swimmer will access the deck will be shared at this meeting, as well as any other important information, which may not be included in this guide or previously available. Phoenix Country Day School Site: Phoenix Country Day School Pool 3901 East Stanford Drive, Paradise Valley, AZ, 85253 The Dady Aquatic Center is located on 40 th Street, just north of Camelback Road Buses will drop off at the Aquatic Center and then park in the WEST Church parking lot on Stanford Drive, north side of the campus. Signs will indicate which parking lot to enter. Team Head Coach must submit Coaches Deck Credential Form by October 22, 2016. Swim Coach Credentials will be given based on the following entry numbers, counting each gender separately, excluding divers: Four or fewer individual event qualifiers or 1 qualified relay= 1 coach pass, 1 spectator pass Five or more individual event qualifiers, or more than 1 qualified relay, or at least 2 individual event qualifiers plus at least 1 qualified relay= 2 coach passes Teams with dive qualifiers will be given 1 dive credential for their dive coach on record. Misuse of credentials will result in confiscation and ejection of the non-participant swimmer/coach from the swimming meet facility. Other staff, including bus drivers, team managers, etc., will not be given credentials or allowed in the closed deck area. Credential Distribution Credentials will be distributed at the pre-meet meeting on Wednesday, November 2, 2016. Head coaches who cannot attend the coaches pre-meet meeting, may pick up their credential packet beginning at 7:45 a.m. (Friday) morning of prelims at the team entrance. When coaches arrive at the pool facility, they must have their credentials clearly visible around their to receive admittance on deck and must keep credential on and visible at all times (except when swimming/diving). Swimmers and divers will be credentialed on site. Separate credential designation will be given each day based on participation. All dive coaches/divers will receive their deck credentials when they check in on site. Dive check in will be at the lobby entrance of Skyline Aquatic Center. In order to provide swimmers and divers with the best possible competitive environment, admission to the deck will be limited to credentialed athletes, coaches and meet officials. All individual and relay qualifiers (swimming and diving) will receive credentials. 6

Qualifying For The State Championship Swimmers are limited to a maximum of 2 individual events plus 2 relays or a maximum of 1 individual event plus 3 relays. All entry rules as stated in the National Federation Rule Book apply and it is the responsibility of the head coach to ensure that their submitted entries comply. All swimmers/ relay teams in each division must have achieved at least a provisional time during an approved qualifying competition for each event that they are entered in. It is the responsibility of the head coach to ensure that the result is properly entered into MaxPreps for consideration as a qualifying time. Divisions I & II The top 32 entered swimmers and top 24 entered relays, plus 2 alternates in each, will be slated to participate in the Division I & Division II State Championship. Division III The top 24 individuals entered into each individual event and the top 16 relays entered into each relay event will compete, plus 2 alternates in each, will be slated to participate in the Division III State Championship. All entry times must be from state championship qualifier meets submitted in MaxPreps. It is the responsibility of the head coach to ensure that the entered time for each entry is entered into MaxPreps for consideration as an entry time. State Championship Swimming Entry Procedures All Division I, Division II and Division III individual swimming and relay entries for the AIA State Championship shall be submitted online at www.maxpreps.com. The www.maxpreps.com website will open for individual swimming and relay entries on Sunday, October 23, 2016 and will remain open for entries until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2016. Directions for coaches to utilize MaxPreps online entry process will be found on the swim & dive page of www.aiaonline.org, under coaches. It is the responsibility of the head coach to ensure that their entries have been properly submitted prior to the entry deadline. Before the Meet Qualifiers by event sheets for the AIA Division I, II & III State Swim & Dive Preliminaries and Championships will be available on the brackets section of the AIA website, Tuesday the week of the state meet. For up-to-date information about the meet, check the updated information in the 2016 AIA State Swim & Dive Tournament Guide on the Coaches page of www.aiaonline.org. Two heat sheets per team will be provided to coaches at the Friday/Saturday coaches meeting. 7

During the Meet Rules shall be those of the current edition of the NFHS Swimming & Diving Rule Book, the AIA Constitution and Bylaws, and these tournament instructions. The Skyline Aquatic Center and PCDS Aquatic Center prohibit outside food and drinks on the pool deck. Do not plan to bring coolers filled with food and drinks on the deck. NO GLASS containers may be brought on the pool deck or into the spectator seating areas. Small dressing rooms will be available. There are no lockers or towels provided for participants in this meet. Changing into or out of swimsuits outside designated locker room areas by athletes at any level of competition is prohibited at AIA Sanctioned Events. Prohibited areas include but are not limited to, team and spectator seating sections, as well as warm-up and competition pool decks. Neither the AIA nor the host site is responsible for lost or stolen articles. No chairs are available at the state tournament site. No commercial tents (large rented tents installed by outside vendors) will be permitted. Portable, non-commercial, tents will be permitted but may not be left after the completion of a session. Competition Format In each race the Boys will compete first followed by the Girls. In finals, finalists will parade out prior to the start of each race. Awards will be as noted in the AIA Constitution and Bylaws. The Division I & Division II awards for swimming and diving will be presented on deck immediately following each Championship final at Skyline. The Division III awards for swimming will be presented on deck immediately following each Championship final at PCDS. In the finals, the Championship heat finalists will parade out prior to the start of their race. Schools failing to provide such documentation or payment may be ineligible from state championship participation. ENTRY DEADLINE: Sunday October 23 th, 3:00 pm. No late entries can be made, the website will automatically close the meet at the deadline. 9

NEW PROCEDURE FOR MAKING DIVE CHANGES TO LISTS Once a diver is entered (by the deadline), their dive sheet may be changed electronically by logging into their account up until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday October 27 th. MAKE ALL DIVE CHANGES USING THIS PROCESS. On the competition day, if the diver has no changes to make, the diver simply signs their list of dives on the bulletin board and proceeds to warm-ups. If the diver has any changes to make, the diver must make the changes on their list and sign the list no later than 7:00 a.m. (DI, DII and DIII boys, morning session divers) and 12:30 p.m. (DI, DII, and DIII girls, afternoon session divers). The computer is unable to make changes within one hour of the scheduled start time. (Sec 3 Article 5) Dive coaches must adhere to the following entry instructions to enter divers into the State Diving Qualifier. State Dive Qualifier Entry Instructions: We are using CleanEntires.com for State Qualifiers and State Championships. Please note that the first time you sign up, it will not be a fast process as all your divers need to sign up too. After you go through the setup process the first time, you will not need to setup again for subsequent meets. You will just enter dive sheets. 1. Go to https://cleanentries.com/ to login or create an account if you are new to the site. If this is your first time registering you will need to add your team to the database. Please use the official name of your team when entering the full team name, and your 4-letter AIA school code for the abbreviated code. Codes can be found on the AIA website or the AZ High School Diving Coaches Facebook group. 2. Once you have set up your team, have your divers create their own accounts and choose your school as their team. 3. Find our meet, AZ State Diving Qualifier, and follow the on-screen instructions for entering each diver s sheet. 4. Please be sure to enter your divers sheets accurately. Changes may be made to sheets up until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday October 27 th. Questions or problems? 2016 Facility & Admission Information Admission Spectator entrance will open 1 hour prior to the start of competition. All spectators must purchase a ticket for admission. $10.00 Adults $5.00 H.S. w/ I.D., Jr. High, Elementary students Free admission for: Children five or under Swim meet participants (must have participant deck pass hand stamp) Swim/Dive Coaches (must wear coaches deck pass) All tournament meet workers (must wear event worker pass) U.S. Swim Officials (in uniform) Media with proper credentials who have been approved by the AIA AIA Lifetime Pass Holder and One Guest AIA Complimentary Pass and One Guest Photo ID required for AIA Pass Holder and all AIA Complimentary Passes No Lawn Chairs or Coolers are allowed into the Skyline Aquatic Facility Programs & Souvenirs Kukulski Brothers is the official supplier for AIA Programs and Souvenirs. State tournament programs will be provided, free of charge, in PDF files for users to download, when available. Please note that hi-res programs may be best suited for desktop downloads and low-res programs may be best suited for mobile and tablet device downloads. The Kukulski Brothers will have a photographer on deck for all award presentations. Digital photographs will be available for order from a Kukulski Brothers sponsored website. Entrance Dive coaches & athletes will enter through main lobby. Swim coaches & athletes will enter through western-most entrance of facility. Spectators & media will enter through south-western most entrance of facility. Concessions Concessions will be available at the concessions area. No outside food or drinks are allowed on the deck by coaches or participants. Staff Hospitality A hospitality room with light snacks & beverages has been arranged for State Swim Meet officials and event workers only. The hospitality area is not available, nor open, for coaches or state swim meet participants. Directions From the 60 Freeway (Superstition): Exit north on Crismon Rd. North on Crismon ¾ mile Skyline High School is on the east side of the road. From the 202 Freeway (Red Mountain): Take the 202 freeway (Red Mountain) east until it meets the US 60. Take US 60 east to Crismon Rd. Exit north on Crismon Rd. North on Crismon ¾ mile. Skyline High School is on the east side of the road. Division III- Dady Phoenix Country Day School Aquatic Center 3901 E. Stanford Dr., Paradise Valley, AZ 85253 Parking Spectator parking is available at the swimming complex and at the front entrance to the school on Stanford Drive. Team buses will drop off at the Aquatic Center and then park in the west church parking lot on Stanford Drive. Entrance Swim coaches & athletes will enter through the visitors locker room. Spectators & media will enter through the main entrance at the southernmost entrance of facility. Concessions Concessions will be available at the concessions area. No outside food or drinks are allowed on the deck by coaches or participants. Staff Hospitality A hospitality room with light snacks & beverages has been arranged for State Swim Meet officials and event workers only. The PCDS Aquatic Center is 2 blocks north of Camelback on 40th Street, on the west side of the street. 12

Media Credential Policy AIA has a Media Credential Policy that needs to be followed to protect the proprietary rights of the Association and to protect the student-athletes and coaches at region and state tournament events. The following link (http://aiaonline.org/news/press_center.php) is to the AIA Media Center which houses the AIA Media Credential Form and the AIA Approved Media List (those that have requested and been granted AIA media credentials). Please download the AIA Media Credential Form and should a media member need access that is not on the media list, they will need to sign off on the form. Please print out several of the Media Credential Forms so each media outlet fills out its own form. Should the media member refuse to sign off on the form, they will not be granted access to the region or state tournament event you re hosting. At the conclusion of the event, please fax or mail those forms to the AIA so that we may follow up and credential those people the approved media list will be updated as forms are received and processed. Please download the AIA Approved Media List (which is constantly being updated) so that those members of the media that are already approved may be granted access. Please note that some members of the media might show up with Freelance Credentials. These have no pictures on them, but do allow for access to the event per the designated media outlet on the AIA Media Credential. 26.1 ADA NOTICE It is the policy of the Arizona Interscholastic Association not to discriminate on the basis of disability in admission to, access to, or operation of its programs, services and activities, or in its hiring and employment practices.
