Introduction & Background: The Egyptian Corporate Responsibility Center was established in 2008 as a joint project between UNDP and the government of Egypt. The Center s mandate, is to map the CSR context in Egypt and encourage sustainable business practices, serve as a knowledge hub for CSR in Egypt & a platform of engagement between the public and private sector and finally to become a place to go for capacity building in the areas of CSR and business sustainability. The Egyptian Corporate Responsibility Center (ECRC) in cooperation with the Industrial Modernization Centre (IMC), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) In full recognition of the critical role of entrepreneurs in job creation, innovation, growth, and national prosperity, is committed to creating an enabling environment for entrepreneurship to flourish in the country. 1.2 Beneficiary BC: Entrepreneurs working with Creative Industries (Egyptian Handicrafts). 1.3 Furnex 2015 Exhibition (From 5 th to 8 th of February, 2015) - Cairo: Furnex is an Egyptian International Furniture and Furnishing Trade Fair organized by the Egyptian Furniture Export Council (EFEC) in collaboration with Egypt Expo & Convention Authority (EECA) and the Egyptian Exporters Association (Expolink). Furnex is the event that puts Egypt's
furniture sector on the international map of furniture production and helps boasting the exports to the international markets. Furnex 2015 is Over 21,000 square meters in a modern venue with more than 200 Egyptian manufacturers show casing their latest products as well as their production capabilities exhibit product of furniture in addition to home textiles & handicrafts. IMC is exhibiting products of IMC beneficiaries including Entrepreneurs working with Creative Industries (Egyptian Handicrafts). over approximately 1100 square meters. Products include both traditional products & new collections with new trendy creative designs. 2. Objectives: 2.1 General Objective: The main purpose of the assignment is to assist Entrepreneurs working with Creative Industries (Egyptian Handicrafts) in styling capabilities through recruiting stylists to work on the styling and stand display of handicrafts products & collections including fashion range for different items that will be exhibited during Furnex 2015 Exhibition. 2.2 Specific Objective: The main and specific objectives is to assist and support Entrepreneurs working with Creative Industries (Egyptian Handicrafts) in styling their booths in Furnex Exhibition 2015 taking into consideration theme of Creative Egypt reflecting creativity of Egyptian producers & artisans presenting both of their traditional & new designed products. It should reflect diversity of Egyptian culture & heritage in a contemporary approach with international standards of such specialized trade fairs, as an international show case of Egypt and its richness of creative producers & artisans. 3. Requested Services: 3.1 General Activities: The service provider (SP) is requested to provide the beneficiaries (BC) Entrepreneurs working with Creative Industries (Egyptian Handicrafts) exhibiting in Furnex 2015 with the following: Developing the way the product is displayed in the booth Produce a conceptual idea(s) for that theme Creative Egypt that s best toward supporting the content and values with visual elements in coordination with Construction Company that will build booths. Create an atmosphere of Egyptian heritage reflecting its richness, diversity & creativity as a show case to the world of Egyptian Creative Hands presenting Creative Egyptian products in a contemporary approach.
3.2 Specific Activities: The scope of work that will be conducted by the Stylist shall mainly focus on helping Entrepreneurs working with Creative Industries (Egyptian Handicrafts) in their stand display and decorations taking in consideration reflecting diversity of Egyptian culture & heritage in a contemporary approach applying international standards presenting the general theme Creative Egypt. Services include but not limited to the following: Review booths design and make recommendations concerning layout and display of products. Working before the exhibition on selecting and preparing the products for display, and on styling during the construction of the display booth till it s ready for opening in a full coordination with IMC Representatives & Booth Construction Company. Presenting & reflecting history, special culture, nature & heritage of each Cluster in addition to highlighting each Craft s roots, traditional motives, techniques of handmade production process & tools, design creation and stories behind the products. Presentation of concept and selection of products to be displayed in the stand of Furnex 2015 exhibitors. Guiding the exhibitors to emerging fashion trends as well as general trends related to materials, colours and shapes; and display included accessories and needed lighting inside the booth. To ensure with exhibitors that the products suit the customer, market and price points. Product Development in the last stage (Styling) including fabrics selection, colours, paints, lightings, arrangements...etc. 3.3 Range of Products: Handmade Embroidery. Handloom Kilim. Handmade Carpets. Alabaster Stone. Handmade Glass. Handmade Leather. Pottery & Ceramic. Handmade Wood Products 4. Expected Man-Days: We expect 7 working days before exhibition starts on 5th of February, 2015 including days of construction & preparing booths at the exhibitions venue.
5. Project Management & Contractor s Tasks & Responsibilities: IMC (Industrial Modernization Center shall manage the contract. Changes in the methodology may be made only according to needs subject to mutual written agreement between the IMC and the Contractor. 6. Expert Profile: The Stylist (Technical Assistance Consultant) should be an International Expert with international expertise, high competencies and experiences in styling products & booths in international exhibitions for Entrepreneurs working with Creative Industries (Egyptian Handicrafts) and the development & conducting of such projects which combine and customize proven methods, methodologies and systems. It is anticipated that One Stylist will be required. 7. Evaluation Grid: Key Expert/s Qualifications and Skills: 1.1 Methodology and Approach of Research and strategic design & styling support Max.Initial Assessment 15 (if applicable) Revised Assessment 1.2. Expert experience in related 15 international & local exhibition 1.3. Degree & Technical & Styling 20 and design Experience 1.4. Experience in the field of 20 Fashion Products & Handicrafts 1.5 Similar assignment Experience 10 1.6 Previous experience in Egypt 10 1.7 Report writing & presentation 10 of final stage Total Score 100 % 8.Evaluation of Financial Offers: Upon completion of the technical evaluation, the file/envelope containing the financial offer for the assignment will be opened on the same day which was not eliminated during the technical evaluation (i.e. those which have achieved an average score of 70 points or more). The maximum budget envelope will be opened and offers exceeding the maximum budget for the contract will be eliminated.
9. Choice of Successful Offer: The most economically advantageous offer shall be arranged by dividing the compared financial value of each offer by the total technical points given to the offer which were not eliminated during the financial evaluation. 10. Payment: The Financial offer should to be based on the fees per Man Day and any other cost Accommodation, transportation and any other support facilities (all inclusive) 10.2 Payment Conditions: 1. Payment will be in US dollars and to be made by means of bank transfer. 2. Deliverables and related payment will be as follows: Upon successful receiving payment request upon deliverables: Project report including images & photos of final output, display layout plan for the stand and the booths of Entrepreneurs working with Creative Industries (Egyptian Handicrafts) over the allocated spaces area in Furnex 2015. 11.Location & Duration of the Assignment: 11.1 Project Location: The assignment will be conducted in Cairo - Arab Republic of Egypt. 12. Project Duration: The Project will require approximately 7 consultant man-days according to the approved timeline and action plan, over a period not exceeding 2 months upon signing contract. The Project if requires extensions, as follow-on phases, could be mentioned as well by the Consultant. 13. Accommodation, Transportation, and Support Facilities: Accommodation, transportation and any other support facilities required for the assignment are the responsibility of the service provider. The cost must be included for rendering the agreed services. 14. Reports: 14.1 Reporting Requirements: The Stylist will provide at the different stage of the assignment a comprehensive report, outlining: o Overview of activities undertaken. o Major observations made during the execution of the assignment. o Final report.
14.2 Submission & Approval of Reports: All the reports, plans and documents during the assignment and at the end of the assignment have to be approved and signed by the IMC, and should be presented in English and Arabic. A copy of each report, plan and document will be delivered to IMC following approved and signing off from the beneficiary cluster or company, in both electronic format & 3 hard copies. Any comments will be communicated back to the service provider within one week. Throughout the duration of the assignment and following its completion, the Contractor and all experts, shall maintain the strictest confidentiality vis-à-vis third parties in respect of all politically sensitive information gained throughout the course of the assignment.
