1 UNDP APRC TERMS OF REFERENCE Title: iphone/android optimized web-application Developer Type of Contract: Individual Contractor Duration: April 203 May 203 with maximum of 30 working days Duty Station: Home-based and no travel required Background The Environment and Energy Group (EEG) as the UN system's development programme and a GEF Implementing Agency since 99, UNDP supports countries in addressing development, climate, and ecosystem sustainability in an integrated manner. As a GEF Implementing Agency, UNDP-GEF offers countries highly specialized technical services for eligibly assessment, programme/project formulation, due diligence, mobilization of required co-financing, project implementation oversight, results management and evaluation, performance-based payments and knowledge management. The key strength of UNDP-GEF is its three-tier system of quality control which relies on: The proximity of UNDP Country Offices to country partners enabling them to provide local response and assurance; The presence of specialized region-based technical advisors able to back country office environmental focal points with expertise in technical subject areas, and knowledge of the range, requirements and processes of various financial mechanisms; and Global technical advisors able to provide state of the art technical knowledge, forecast emerging policy trends, maintain links with specialized financial mechanisms, and lead new strategic capability development efforts. The UNDP-GEF Profile includes a brief overview of the UNDP-GEF team, profiles of its six technical teams and the priority signature programmes for each of the teams. These are specific areas of expertise the technical comparative advantage of UNDP as GEF implementing agency that has been acquired through extensive experience and where UNDP-GEF can provide comprehensive support to partner countries to achieve transformational change. 2 Objectives of the Assignment Under the supervision of the Senior Technical Advisor, the consultant will develop and produce a new mobile for the United Nations Development Program, Global Environment Facility Team. The overall tasks include: Produce a concept for a mobile phone (including, for example, an iphone/android phone optimized webapp) that synchronizes information about UNDP s adaptation portfolio of projects with the existing undp-alm.org website. Design and produce a new mobile that will allow staff to easily search for projects within this database, ensuring they have access to the information even when not connected to the Internet. Manage distribution of the app through the Apple App Store (for ios) and Google Play (for Android), if necessary. Test the over a period of time, improve it based on staff feedback and distribute updates via the relevant app stores. Provide training to UNDP Global Environment staff to maintain and update data that is drawn from the. Scope of Work. Provide technical advice on mobile based on existing project database 2.
