1 Department of Design Illustration / Communication Design (Bachelor programmes) Illustration (Bachelor) Programme Structure The Bachelor s programme is made up of four areas: Artistic courses Labs Theory Design - Project Drawing Hot type Art & Art History Book Illustration Painting Computer labs Art & Fashion History Media Illustration Computer-aided Experiment Photo labs Communication Theory Informative Illustration Creative Writing Time-based media Sociology Manual printing Poetics/Rhetoric Dramaturgy These areas are studied throughout the degree programme. The projects are semester-long projects. Why am I here? (5 ECTS) Illustrative thoughts [ Drawing Compulsory Course / 2nd semester students (5 ECTS)] Painting 008 Finding a picture/individual topics/open studio (5 ECTS) Developing themes in painting using sketch books, notes, articles in newspapers, b) free painting of themes from the courses in Illustration, Communication Design, Fashion Design. 009 The Deletion of the Theme (5 ECTS) Painting using models. A goal does not need to be reached. The visual reality is used as a starting point, deformed and disproportionated. The course concentrates on formal and painting problems. 010 Figure and Space (5 ECTS) Painting using models. The figure is a painting experiment. The seductive nature of the unfinished, the spontaneous, the still open. Communication Design Project Time-based Media 133 Sightseeing (15 ECTS) Experimental artistic discussion with the presentation of reality in urban spaces. Hamburg is the stage and projection surface for expectations and perceptions. 134 Sound Design for Film & Animation (15 ECTS) Perception: Picture and sound, functionality of sound design, film music, film analysis. Sound production: dialogue and sound recording, O-tone, synthetic sounds; technical basics: mono, stereo, surround, microphone recording, etc. 135 Video Miniatures Projects in animation. Development of video miniatures, based on an individual idea.
