This show is located at the Balloon Fiesta Park during Balloon Fiesta, on the south end of Main Street. This event has attendance of over 750,000 people during the nine days. 3 Exhibition/Show Area The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is held at the City of Albuquerque s Balloon Fiesta Park each year. The physical address is 5000 Balloon Fiesta Parkway, Albuquerque, NM The location of the Artisans at Balloon Fiesta tent is on the south end of Main Street, where there is ample room for large crowds and is conveniently located near official tents along Concession Row, restrooms, Corporate Village, and our park & ride transportation area. All artists are provided a booth space with electricity (includes 400 watts of electricity, additional electricity available for an additional cost) Requests considered on a first come, first served basis. Artists must furnish or rent their own display equipment (tables, chairs, etc.) Artists must be present in their booth during show hours Artist Hospitality Lounge area(s) with Complementary Beverages and snacks Private Portable Restrooms for Exhibiting Artists Event Postcards for mailings to customers will be provided by AIBF Sign with Name, City, State and Booth Number for your booth Parking and Entry passes will be included with Booth Rental Juror Fees Jury fee: $30.00 per category entered (non-refundable) Jury fee must be paid with either Check/Cashier s Check/Money Order/Credit Card Booth Fee 6x15 Standard $ x15 Corner $ x10 Standard $ x10 Corner $ x15 Standard $ x15 Corner $ x20 Standard $ x20 Corner $ Payment options will be discussed in the contract once accepted 3 P a g e

4 4 P a g e Eligibility and Requirements Artists over 18 years of age are eligible to apply Artists may apply in multiple categories. Separate entry form, 5 digital or printed images, and jury fee(s) are required for each category. Each medium is evaluated separately. Only one booth will be allowed per Artist regardless of the number of categories in which the Artist is accepted. Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta (AIBF) reserves the right to re-categorize work it feels has been entered in the wrong category. All Artists must personally attend their booth and be present during the entire show. No representatives or agents may replace the Artist. Artists may display work only in the category (ies) in which accepted. AIBF reserves the right to remove an Artist, without refunding the booth fee. If an Artist exhibits any work that does not reflect the quality and nature of the work juried, or which does not meet AIBF standard and guidelines, action will be taken. All work exhibited must be original work, created by the Artist. No BUY and SELL or MASS reproductions accepted Signed and numbered offset limited edition reproductions and Giclee reproductions of hand-created works will be allowed, but must be labeled as reproductions and confined to a single area. Only original artwork will be allowed on booth walls. Photographs and Digital Art prints shall be considered original artwork. Photos/photocopies of artwork will not be allowed. Framed mechanical reproductions will not be allowed in bins or on booth walls. No posters will be allowed. No commercial, manufactured or kit work including use of commercial molds, patterns, blanks, or dies will be allowed. All work must be visibly marked with a retail price on all items for sale. By submitting an application you understand that your images can be used for advertising and editorial purposes, in areas such as social media, printed media, and verbal advertising. Liability & Insurance AIBF will provide security on the grounds both day and night; however, each craft Artist exhibits at his or her own risk. AIBF will not be held responsible for damage, theft or loss of an individual s work. You are required to have event insurance while exhibiting at Artisans at Balloon Fiesta ; the minimum amount of coverage will be noted on the contract once accepted.

5 How to Enter Complete Application (Last page of packet) Submit 5 digital/printed images of five different art pieces for each category. Digital images may not exceed 2MB for each image. Printed images must be submitted in an 8x10 size format, photo quality paper. Each Artist must select 5 different images for each category to be considered. Please submit a booth image as well. Make sure no titles or company names are shown. If you do not have a booth image, please provide an image of your products grouped for sale. This will show the jurors how you will present your work at the show. Be sure to include the following information on all images submitted: o Image number o Title o Size of original piece of work o Media o Retail pricing of item Please make sure that the name of your booth is NOT on any of the images/titles A non-refundable jury fee of $30.00 per category must be paid at the time of submission, payable to AIBF. There is no quota system for each category; however, AIBF reserves the right to create balance for the show. Artists not accepted by the jurors will be notified in writing by May 15, P a g e

6 6 P a g e Definitions of Category/Type When choosing a media category, allow the function of the work to determine the category rather than the material. Clay- All entries to the clay category whether decorative or functional must be original design and handmade by the artist. Decorative: Original Clay and porcelain work, other than jewelry, that is not intended for everyday use and that will be used as decoration or accent pieces. Machine-made works from commercial molds and mass produced items are not permitted. Functional: Original clay and porcelain work, other than jewelry that is made for everyday use. Machine-made works from commercial molds and mass produced items are not permitted without additional detailing. Digital art: Works are computer generated two-dimensional artwork wherein all visual inputs of the work are generated from the mind and hand of the artist and rendered using input to a computer (mouse, touchpad, digital tablet, etc.) Digital art is to be printed on two-dimensional output media. Output to other media may be considered mixed-media. Drawings: Works in graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, chalk, wax crayon, pen and ink. Fiber: Work crafted from fiber, basketry, weaving, quilting, leather work, and papermaking (both wearable and decorative). Machined screened patterns, mass production, or factory produced wearable items are not permitted. Glass: Stained, hand-blown, etched, slumped, fused, (non-sculptural). No forms of mass production permitted. Jewelry- All entries to the jewelry category whether precious or non-precious must be original design and handmade by the artist. No mass production or kits will be accepted. Precious Jewelry: Body ornaments such as necklaces, pendants, brooches, rings, bracelets, earrings, etc. Jewelry made using precious metals and precious or semiprecious stones. Non-Precious Jewelry: Body ornaments such as necklaces, pendants, brooches, rings, bracelets, earrings, etc. Jewelry made using non-precious metals, gems, stones, beads, clay, wood, glass or other non-traditional jewelry media. Metal: Works crafted from metal including copper, wrought iron, brass, tin, etc. (Nonsculptural, non-jewelry.)

7 Mixed Media: Any form of art which does not easily fit into other categories including gourd art. Paintings: Framed prints allowed, matted reproductions must be in bins, and may not be displayed on walls. Paintings 1: Works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, alkyd, casein, pastel and tempera. Paintings 2: Mixed Media Photography: Two-dimensional artwork wherein the visual inputs of the work are generated solely from photographic images created by the artist, with a camera, using either traditional film or digital media. Photographic prints may be generated using either traditional darkroom or digital techniques. Photographs are to be printed on two-dimensional output media. Output to three-dimensional materials will be considered mixed-media. Printmaking: Hand printed multiple, signed and numbered originals for which the artist s hand manipulated the plates, stones, or screens. Sculpture: Three-dimensional original work done in any medium including bronze, wood, steel, ceramics, glass, etc. Wood: Non-sculptural works in wood that are hand-tooled, machine worked, turned or carved including furniture, bowls, etc. 7 P a g e
