Civil Marriages & Ceremonies The Carraig Hotel is approved as a suitable venue to hold your civil marriage ceremony. In order to hold a civil ceremony here at the Carraig Hotel you are required to: Contact the Registrar regarding availability of dates & intended arrangements. Please be advised, marriage ceremonies are usually conducted by the registrar from Monday Friday. Contact the office: Community Services, Western Road Clonmel

Terms & Booking Conditions -A provisional booking will be held for 14 days. - Having discussed your arrangements, a booking deposit of 5% is required to secure the date. At this stage, the Terms & Conditions should also be signed & returned. - A further deposit of 40% is required one month in advance of your Wedding Day. The balance should be paid before or on the day. (Deposits are non-refundable unless the date is re-sold at a similar price)

- Final arrangements together with menus to be confirmed one month before your wedding day. - Final numbers are to be confirmed 48 hours in advance & these will be the minimum numbers charged for on the day. Increases in your number will be charged accordingly. - Due to Health & Safety regulations, no food may be brought into the hotel for consumption the exception to this is the wedding cake. - Corkage is not available. - All accounts must be settled prior to departure from the hotel - All music must finish by 2.00am. - Only residents will be served in the Residents Bar after hours. - The Ceremony Takes approximately one hour - Photographs Initially outside the church. Then taken at venue of choice - Guests arrival at The Carraig Hotel Guests arrive for optional drinks reception - Bride & Groom arrive Bride & Groom, accompanied by the bridal party will be welcomed with a glass of complimentary chilled champagne by our Wedding Co-ordinator - Dinner Call Our wedding co-ordinator will call you & your party in to the function room approximately 30 minutes before dinner is served - Bride & Groom are announced The Bride & Groom will be announced into the dinner - Top Table Seating Clergy Grooms Brides Best man Groom Bride Bridesmaid Brides Grooms Father Mother Father Mother - Dinner Dinner is served - Bride & Groom cut the Cake Either before or after the speeches, the Best Man announces the cutting of the cake. After the Bride & Groom have made the first cut, the cake is cut & served to the guests. You may wish to serve cake at the evening reception too. - Speeches & Toast These follow the meal. The Bride s father speaks first to toast the couple. The Groom replies on behalf of the Bride & thanks the Bride s parents for the wedding, the guests for their presents & then toasts the bridesmaids. The Best Man replies on behalf of the Bridesmaids, & reads out any messages sent in by people unable to attend. - Band&/DJ Band or DJ will announce the Bride & Groom s first dance & will start the entertainment for the evening. - Evening Guests Arrive Evening guests will arrive & evening buffet will be served at 11pm approximately

Take along baptism & confirmation certificates, organise letters of release - Organise flowers for church/register office - Choose & order your wedding rings - Order you cake - Co-ordinate colours of dress, flowers bridesmaids & cake

- Finalise your honeymoon plans. Arrange visas & vaccinations. If necessary have your name changed on your passport - Start looking for your going away outfit - Compile a list of wedding presents 02 Months Out - Send out invitation (including details of accommodation where necessary) make note of acceptances & refusals when they come in - Choose presents for bridesmaids, both mothers, best man & anyone else you would like to thank - Check travel arrangements & hotel booking for honeymoon - Confirm menu details with the hotel 01 Month Out - Chase up on late invitation replies & finalise guest list - Work on your seating plan & write out place cards - Order your traveller s cheques & currency - Meet with the Wedding Co-ordinator & discuss numbers, table plan, drinks reception, timings, wines, toast, afters reception & bar extension - Check that all transport arrangements are finalised - Time the journey to the church/register office & from there to the hotel - Visit your hairdresser to discuss what style you want (remember to bring your head-dress) & book your final appointment - If you plan on changing your name or address, notify your bank, building society etc. 01-02 Weeks out - Have your rehearsal for the ceremony & check that the wedding booklets have been delivered - Make the final checks on the honeymoon arrangements - Change your money & put it, together with your tickets & passports in a safe place - Pack your clothes & other items that you won t be needing before the wedding - Make final checks on your dress & accessories - Make sure the morning suits have been collected - Wear-in your shoes at home
