Day-by-Day Itinerary Tour Dates: June 2-13, 2015 Tour Length: 11 Days / 10 Nights Arrival Airport: Paris (CDG) Departure Airport: Frankfurt (FRA) Countries: France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany World War II Tour to France, Belgium and Rhine River. This Tour begins at Paris (CDG) Airport and finishes at Frankfurt (FRA) Airport. During our 5 days in Normandy (other tours try to see everything in two), we not only visit the American invasion beaches, but also the British and Canadian Beaches as well. On our drive from Paris to the Normandy coast, we make a stop at La Roche Guyon Castle, where Erwin Rommel's D-Day headquarters were located. Hear the incredible story of the four-year preparation and training period for the Allies, which preceded the D-Day invasion. Visit Pegasus Bridge, where the British 6th Airborne Division spearheaded the entire assault forces with a commando-style raid on Benouville. See an original German coastal battery with its original cannons still in place. This Tour now includes a visit to the impressive Radar Museum in Douvres, where you can see an original Würzburg Giant, and explore the radar station s preserved bunkers. We will also make our way to Arromanches, to witness the ruins of the former artificial "Mulberry" harbor. We will spend a full day visiting sites at UTAH Beach, including the town of Ste. Mere Eglise, La Fiere Causeway, Sainte Marie-du-Mont, Dead Man's Corner, Carentan and more. At OMAHA Beach, we start by visiting Pointe du Hoc, where the 2nd US Ranger Battalion scaled the 100ft cliffs against all odds. Next, we continue to Verville-sur-Mer, where the 29th Infantry Division suffered horrible casualties on D-Day. We will also visit Normandy American Cemetery, to pay our respects to more than 9,000 war dead buried there. Visit Battle of the Bulge sites in the Ardennes Forest. From Normandy, we head along the northern coast to the Pas-de-Calais. We visit the impressive TODT Battery, a museum located in an original bunker dedicated to the history of the Atlantic Wall. Relax in the evening as we stay in an 18th Century Chateau hotel. We continue to the Belgian Ardennes, where we will spend 2 days visiting Battle of the Bulge sites. See Bastogne, where the 101st Airborne Division and other units held the line under continuous German attacks to take the important city. Our Battlefield Tour of the Ardennes also includes the site of the Malmedy Massacre, Poteau / St. Vith, Foy, Trois-Ponts, and much more. Visit the actual spot where General Patton's 4th Armored Division broke through the encirclement around Bastogne, marking a major turning point in the battle. We will have a scenic drive into nearby Luxembourg, where we will visit one of the best World War II museums in the world: The National Museum of Military History at Diekirch. We complete this incredible tour on the Rhine River in Germany. Our last two days are spent enjoying the spectacular scenery from Rheinfels Castle, our 800-year-old castle hotel overlooking the Rhine River. Our last day on tour includes a Rhine River Cruise and Private Wine Tasting!
