Day 02 Mar. 30, Fri arrival Paris After arrival transfer to hotel. The rest of day is at leisure until dinner. Day 03 Mar. 31, Sat Paris We enjoy an introductory city tour encompassing all the famous sites: Nôtre Dame, Champs Élysées, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower. After time on your own for lunch, we visit the Musée de l Armée, which is one of the largest in the world and return to the hotel for dinner. Day 04 apr. 1, Sun Paris Versailles This morning we depart for a visit to the spectacular château of Versailles. We have time for lunch and then stop at Pegasus Bridge en route to the coast and, where we ll check in later in the afternoon and have dinner. Day 05 apr. 2, Mon This morning we travel to Omaha Beach, Arromanches and the Landing Beaches where one can still see evocative remnants of the Mulberry Harbour. There is time for a late lunch in scenic Courseulles before we visit the Juno Memorial, following which we will visit the Beny-sur-Mer Cemetery and then return along the Coast. Day 06 apr. 3, Tue This morning we visit the impressive Peace Memorial, the greatest museum in Normandy. There is time for lunch in itself before we take a drive through the surrounding area, which includes Audrieu, Putot and the Carpiquet Airfield, and we ll stop at Ardenne Abbey. Day 07 apr. 4, Wed We start the day with a drive to Verrières Ridge before our visit to Bretteville sur Laize Cemetery. Driving down the Falaise Gap we head to Falaise, the town of William the Conquerer, with time there for lunch. Then we will return to the area via Trun and St. Lambert (Major Currie, VC). Day 08 apr. 5, Thu honfleur Dieppe Our day starts with a visit to the picturesque seaside resort of Honfleur, from which Samuel de Champlain set off for the New World. In the afternoon we continue on to Dieppe, and visit the cemetery, Pourville (South Saskatchewan Regiment) before our check-in and dinner. Day 09 apr. 6, Fri dieppe calais Dunkerque ieper In the morning we visit Puys (Royal Regiment of Canada) and then drive along the coast past Boulogne and Dunkerque, seeing part of the infamous Atlantic Wall before continuing into Belgium and settling into our Ieper hotel. Day 10 apr. 7, Sat ieper Today we visit the battle-scarred envrions of Ypres, site of WWI s first gas attacks. You cannot turn your head in the Ypres area without seeing a war cemetery somewhere on the horizon, a token of the horrors these parts saw. We will visit Passchendaele, the 45,000 graves of Tyne Cot Cemetery and the 44,000 graves at the Langemark German cemetery. The St. Julian Canadian Monument with Vancouver Corner and John McCrae s field station will round out our visits before returning to Ypres. After dinner we will participate in the traditional Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate. Day 11 apr. 8, Sun ieper beaumont hamel arras Today we stop at Beaumont Hamel for a visit of the Canadian Memorial Park, where we will learn about the Battle of the Somme and the sacrifice of the Newfoundland Regiment. We end our day with time in Arras, a place full of history and memories. Day 12 apr. 9, Mon Arras/Vimy Today we are immersed in the battle for Vimy Ridge, where Canada emerged as a nation, each fighting alongside the other, and winning a decisive victory while enduring incredible hardships. The beautiful monument received a much-needed facelift for the 90th Anniversary in 2007, and will preside gracefully over our day s activities. Day 13 apr. 10, Tue Arras Brussels Canada We have an early morning transfer to the airport in Brussels for those flying home today. Alternately, continue with the Extension to Antwerp.

Then we will visit the cemetery of Bergen op Zoom and close out the day in Arnhem, famous for Operation Market Garden. Day 14 apr. 11, Wed ARNHEM Today s tour will include a drive past Nijmegen, Arnhem, and a visit to Groesbeek cemetery before taking a brief drive through the Reichswald Forest, Wesel, and Kleve area of Germany. Day 15 apr. 12, Thu ARNHEM holten amsterdam katwijk area We have a morning visit to Holten before continuing on to Amsterdam, where we will enjoy a canal boat cruise and brief city tour before settling into a hotel along the coast. Day 16 apr. 13, Fri katwijk Today we rekindle our friendship with the town which hosted us so many times over the past years, visiting the museum and paying a visit to the Mayor. Time permitting, we ll also pay a brief visit to Rotterdam, the busiest harbour in Europe and of great importance during the war. Tonight we enjoy our farewell dinner. 5 FACTS YOU SHOULD KNOW RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENT: A deposit of $500 per person is required at the time of making a reservation on this Special Travel International (hereafter called STI) tour. This deposit is credited toward the full cost of your tour and the balance is due in a final payment two months prior to departure. Travel documents will be sent to you approximately 14 days prior to your trip departure, provided full payment has been received. TOUR PRICES: All tour prices for land arrangements are based on rates effective at the time of printing and are expected to be in effect at the time of departure. Should these rates change, it may be necessary to surcharge the price of your vacation. Should the tour price increase by more than 10%, the passenger shall have the right to cancel within seven days of notification without penalty. CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS: Notice of cancellation must be made in writing. The effective cancellation date is the date when written notification is received by STI. The deposit of $500 is non-refundable. The following scale of charges will apply when cancellation is received within 90 days of departure: days prior to departure 50% days prior to departure 75% 14-0 days prior to departure 100% RESPONSIBILITY AND LIABILITY: STI acts only as an agent in securing all services related to the tours described in this brochure, including transportation, sightseeing and accommodation. STI shall not be responsible or liable for any loss, cost, damage, injury, delay or expense arising from the use of any conveyance, accommodation or service or from acts of God, strikes, weather, quarantine, accidents, sickness, government regulations, insufficient documents and any loss/expense resulting from the above contingencies shall be borne by the tour member. In the event it becomes necessary or advisable for the comfort of the passenger, or for any reason whatsoever, to alter the itinerary or arrangements, such alterations may be made without penalty to the operators. Additional expense, if any, shall be borne by the passenger. The right is reserved to withdraw any or all tours should conditions warrant, and also to decline to accept or retain any passenger as a member of the tour. In such instances, full or equitable amounts will be refunded. INSURANCE: STI recommends that each tour participant has health, cancellation, interruption, accident and baggage insurance for the duration of his/her travel (in situations where insurance is not included in the tour price.) TRAVEL DOCUMENTS: It is entirely the passenger s responsibility to possess whatever documents and visas required by the law of the countries visited on the tour. AIRLINE RESPONSIBILITY: Any airliner carrier providing transportation in connection with these tours is not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time the passenger is not on board its planes or conveyances. The passenger contract in use by the airlines concerned, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the airline and the purchase of these tours and/or passenger. Similar responsibility as noted applies to all types of carriers, including car rental companies.
