OFFSHORE WIND More than half of the world s offshore wind turbines rise from foundations designed by Ramboll.

WASTE-TO-ENERGY Ramboll has been responsible for the planning, design, tendering, construction management and commissioning of more than 70 new waste-to-energy units and retrofits of existing waste-toenergy facilities in 30 countries around the world.

POWER Today, 85 per cent of the world s energy consumption comes from fossil fuels. The global challenge is to ensure that new and existing power plants are as environmentally sustainable and energy efficient as possible. Ramboll has designed and constructed more than 90 major power plants and been instrumental in the ongoing conversion from fossil fuels to biomass.

DISTRICT HEATING Ramboll has 40 years of experience as lead consultants to the most sophisticated district heating network in the world, namely the one in Copenhagen, which supplies heat to more than 1 million people. When working with our international clients we use Copenhagen as inspiration and a model for other district heating projects.

SOLAR HEATING Ramboll has been involved in more than 200,000 m 2 solar heating plants, covering more than 20 different projects, including 7 out of the 8 largest facilities in the world.

BIOENERGY Ramboll has a large technical resource combining considerable experience in bioenergy solutions, including the use of biomass for energy production and biogas production, upgrade, handling and use.

POWER TRANSMISSION Ramboll has approx. 40 high voltage experts in rotating machinery (generators etc.), transformers, switchyards, substations, relay protection, automation and control, reserve power, and inspection visits. Special competences Substations: Quality and security of supply, transformers, relay protection, reserve power, inspection visits. Power transmission, 0,4-400kV: Grid calculation and analysis, selectivity plans, control stations, relay protection, feasibility studies.

OFFSHORE WIND CAPE WIND, MASSACHUSETTS, USA First US offshore wind farm Detailed design of foundations for 130 turbines (468 MW) to be constructed on Nantucket Sound off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Expected to be operational by 2015.

OFFSHORE WIND DOGGER BANK, UK Detailed foundation design The largest planned offshore wind farm in the world (total area: 8,660 km 2 ). Part of the Round 3 project in the UK. High wind speeds and harsh wave climate will require novel and challenging design.

OFFSHORE WIND GWYNT Y MÔR, UK Detailed foundation design Located in the Liverpool Bay area of the Irish Sea, approximately 13 to 20 km off the coast of North Wales Comprises 160 wind turbine generator foundations having a production capacity of 576MW. Water depths ranging from 13 to 28m.

WASTE-TO-ENERGY COPENHAGEN, DENMARK Greenfield waste-to-energy facility With the formal approval of the new Amager Bakke waste-to-energy facility in Copenhagen the construction of an international icon of environmental sustainability and energy efficiency can commence. Ramboll is providing consulting services in connection with the mechanical and electrical supply for the plant, which with a net total energy efficiency of 107% will be among the world s most energy efficient waste-toenergy facilities.

WASTE-TO-ENERGY WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, USA Green-field waste-to-energy facility Technical and management assistance towards the development of the first new waste-to-energy facility in the USA in nearly 20 years. When completed in 2015, it will be one of the world s largest, annually transforming 720,000 tonnes of waste into sustainable energy.

POWER PLANTS BANGLADESH Powering Bangladesh Only 25% of the inhabitants have access to power, and power cuts are the rule rather than the exception. Welcome to Bangladesh, the 8th most populous country in the world with a per capita GDP of $678 corresponding to 1/57 of that of the UK. Ramboll is supporting the development of Bangladesh by helping establish three major power plants.

ENERGY PLANNING LONDON, UK London Heat Maps 2010 / 2011 In early 2010, six of the first nine London Boroughs obtained funding through the London Development Agency (LDA). Studies were prepared simultaneously for Barnet, Brent, Ealing, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark. Late 2010/2011, additional three heat mapping studies for City of London, London Borough of Tower Hamlets and Bexley.

POWER SYSTEMS/TRANSMISSION SVENSKA KRAFTNÄT, SWEDEN Framework agreement including consultancy services within the field of power systems/power transmission. The agreement includes approx. 30,000 manhours per year until the end of 2013.
