8 SLIDE 8 Conditions What is the term? The term of a Buyer Credit Guarantee is up to years in countries defined by the OECD as high-income countries - 10 years in all other countries - 12 years for power plants (all countries) - 18 years for renewable energy and hydro projects (all countries) Conditions The foreign buyer is normally required to pay at least 15% of the order amount in advance. The credit should be granted as a serial loan with principal repayments of equal size plus accrued interest. What does EKF cover? EKF pays out compensation if the Danish company or the bank makes a loss on an export transaction or investment abroad as a result of commercial or political risks. EKF covers up to 95% of the bank s loss, so the bank s deductible is a minimum of 5%.

10 SLIDE 10 Conditions What is the term? In principle, EKF offers risk coverage for up to 14 years. However, risk coverage can be extended for up to 18 years for projects involving renewable energy. Conditions EKF requires that the project is based on a solid and well-conceived business plan. The parties to the project must undergo an impartial due diligence process covering the legal, financial and commercial issues before the project owner and the bank can conclude the final loan agreement. What does EKF cover? EKF typically covers between 30% and 80% of the risk on the loan granted by the bank. This means that the project s bank will be liable for at least 20% of the risk. For climate project financing, EKF covers up to 100%.
