During the Colloquium, 15 conferences should be given, including 14 that are opened to everyone. The topics have to be related to the theme of the Colloquium Genealogy of the Americas Pioneers and Families and the conference papers should be unpublished as far as possible. The length of conferences is 30 minutes followed by a question period of 10 to 15 minutes. No compensation will be paid for the presentation of conferences. The title and a brief summary of your chosen subject (about 250 words) have to be indicated on the preregistration form. The Scientific Committee will examine the proposals and will notify all participants if accepted by 15 April 2017. The conferences should not exceed 30 minutes in order to leave space for debate. The deadline for the submission of the papers is 1 st June 2017. Manuscripts shall not exceed 20 pages (with 1800 keystrokes per page) and have a onepage abstract. Participants who wish to use any multimedia device, are requested to mention it on their preregistration form. The conferences must be in one of the following languages: French, English or Spanish. The speakers names and the topics of their conference will be detailed in the official program that will be remitted at the opening of the Colloquium. General Informations Locations The Colloquium will be held in two different locations of the city of Montréal. For AIG members and other registrants, - on Monday and Tuesday, in the auditorium of the Centre d archives de Montréal of Bibliothèque et Archives Nationales du Québec located at 555, Viger Street, in Old Montréal; - on Thursday at the Maison-des-Marins of the Pointe-à-Callière Museum, at 165 Place d'youville in Old Montréal. The meeting on Friday, reserved for AIG members only, will be held in the salle polyvalente of the Pointe-à-Callière Museum - de L Éperon Building, Place Royale in Old Montréal. Registration Members of the Académie internationale de généalogie and people interested in this Colloquium are requested to send the preregistration form before 1 st February 2017. The number of places is limited to 100 people on Monday and Tuesday and 60 people on Thursday; we ask that you register as soon as possible to guarantee your place. Registration fee The registration fee of CDN$ 50 (about 35) will be required at the time of final registration (between February and May 2017). The registration fee includes (subject to availability) access to all conferences, receptions on Monday and Thursday, the refreshment breaks, two museum visits, the excursion on Wednesday to the Richelieu Valley, a gift book and Colloquium proceedings. The banquet of the X th Colloquium of the Académie internationale de généalogie will be held at the Auberge Saint-Gabriel in Old Montréal. The cost of the meal will be determined in early 2017 but it should be less than CDN$ 80 (about 60). It must be paid when submitting the final registration form (before 1 st May 2017). Tours and excursion The Colloquium registrants can participate free of charge to the visit of the Centre d archives de Montréal on Monday afternoon. AIG Members will visit free of charge the Ici naquit Montréal Exhibition at Pointe-à-Callière Museum on Friday morning, while all registrants can visit it free of charge on Thursday. Wednesday is reserved for a tour, a maximum of 50 seats will be available free of charges to AIG members and other registrants for a tour by coach in the Richelieu Valley. Only the cost of lunch at the price of about CDN$ 35 (about 25) and entrance fees to certain museums are at the charge of the participants. Please indicate your interest for the Wednesday's excursion in the preregistration form. Accommodation Two hotels located in Old Montréal will be recommended to those who have filed the preregistration form. Future notices Following your preregistration, a complete program and a final registration form will be sent for a reply from you before 1 st May 2017. You can make payment by bank check or credit card (to be confirmed).
