The task of the s is to promote the interaction of education and training with working life in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Finnish National Board of Education. WHAT IS AN EDUCATION AND TRAINING COMMITTEE? The system of National Education and Training Committees consists of 26 committees and the system s steering group. The Secretariat of the National Education and Training Committees is composed of Finnish National Board of Education experts. The committee members include a broad spectrum of working life and stakeholder representatives. The term of the current Education and Training Committees is1 January 2014 1 December 2016. NATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING COMMITTEE TASKS EDUCATION AND TRAINING COMMITTEE INITIATIVES 1. To monitor, evaluate and anticipate the development of education and training and working life skills needs in their sector following an action plan drawn up by the steering group 2. To submit initiatives to the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Finnish National Board of Education and other key actors with the aim of developing the contents of VET and, on this basis, qualifications. To propose initiatives to higher education institutions with the aim of promoting the consideration of working life skills needs when developing education contents 4. They are helpful in analysing changing phenomena of the future and anticipating the skills impacts of the changes. They can also be used for online discussions on the future and to agree upon development proposals for education and training.
