THE COURSE From Vaterland to Nydalen you will be running on asphalt walking paths. From Nydalen all the way to the north end of the Maridalsvannet you will be running on dirt roads. Then a small asphalt part before the runners enters Hønefoten. From hønefoten to Fagervann and over to kamphaug a distance of around 7 km over to skjærsjødammen the trail is very technical and narrow. Pay close attention to the markings here since it is easy to make a wrong turn due to lots of paths and tracks. From Skjærsjødammen it is dirt roads all the way down to the south end of Sognsvann around 7 km before the runners enter a technical track over to Frognerseteren. From Frognersetern it is back to dirt roads and easy running towards the start of the 45 km at Holmenkollen, which is the second support station for the 80 km runners. See further description below the 45 km on page 9. The map on our web page ecotrailoslo.com describes the 80 km route and is marked with subway and train stations where spectators will have easy access to the route. Likewise the runners that would like to get out of the race should pick a spot near to one of these stations, so they can get transportation down to the finish area. 7

Holmenkollen start area will also be the second support area for the 80 km race. There will be luggage transport to the finish area and toilets at the start of the race. Below you will find a map of the 45 km race track. THE COURSE The trail from Holmenkollen over to Sørkedalen is mostly based on dirt roads. The terrain from Sørkedalen to Fossum is a combination of very technical paths followed by some asphalt. See further description below the 18 km on page 12. 10

18 km & Nordic Walk 13:00 /1 PM Start at Fossum Idrettsanlegg The easiest way to the start is T-Bane (Subway) Line 5 to Eiksmarka station where you will either have a nice warm up walk of 2 km to the start area at Fossum Idrettsforening or take the shuttle bus between the hours 09:30 12:30. 12

THE COURSE From Fossum to Lysaker the runners will experience one of the most picturesque nature paths in Norway, established by Oslo and Bærum municipality. In this part of all distances, we recommend to focus on nature more than the speed of your race. From Lysaker the runners will follow Sollerud beach with a lovely walking path along the seaside of the Oslofjord, you can nearly taste the salted water. From Vækerø to the finish area the runners will be on asphalt the entire way, passing areas like Bygdøy, Frognerkilen, Aker Brygge, City Hall, Akershus Fortress and finally reach the Opera House and the finish at Sukkerbiten. Fossum will be the fourth support station for the 80 km race, the second support station for the 45 km race and the first support station for the 30 km. 13

Finisher Area Sukkerbiten (The sugarcube) seen from the roof of the Opera House. Sukkerbiten will be the finisher area. In the finisher area you can proudly chill out, buy good food and drinks, and maybe have a free massage by our sponsor Nimi as well? Our partner WWF will be there as well. And if you feel inspired, you can take a selfie together with their famous panda. Actually, the panda will hang out in the finisher area and will be more than happy to join your selfie J. 14

Marking of the track and safety The whole trail will be marked for approximately each 100-150meter with Ecotrail markers. All crossroads and cross paths will be marked with several markers into the crossing and out of the crossing. Warning: If you are running for several hundred metres after a cross road/path without seeing markers, you should turn and run back to double check your whereabouts. SAFETY AND EMERGENCY All 80 km runners must bring a cell phone. Check when you pick up your BIB that we have the correct phone number. If you believe you are the last runner in the race the phone HAS TO BE TURNED ON. Save the phone number for the race director: +47 918 43 141 He will contact medic, transport or help you out if you are lost in the forest. We have a very limited number of cars, so if it isn t deadly it will probably take some time before we are able to pick you up. If you are in an emergency, call 113. It is worth noticing that the cell-phone coverage could be somewhat limited in some parts of the trail, and sometimes SMS is the best alternative. There will be medic from Norsk Folkehjelp at Fossum and at the Finish at Sukkerbiten. 15

Sponsors To make Ecotrail Oslo a reality, we proudly present our sponsors and partners: 16

And last but not least: We will award you! The long sleeve is for the 80 km runners, the tee is for runners in all the other distances. You ll get these in the finisher area, as well as the medal for each distance! 17
