What to study in Hungary Hungarian universities and colleges offer a wide variety of study and research programs in foreign languages (on BA, MA and PhD level). The foreign language programs cover all main academic and scientific areas, including: medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, engineering, economics, natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, arts and music. Some of the programs are short courses which can usually be taken only as part of an exchange program (Non-degree Programs) - other, broader-based programs take several years to complete and lead to an official Hungarian higher education degree (Degree Programs).

Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program The Hungarian government launched a new scholarship program, Stipendium Hungaricum, in autumn 2013 with the ambition of attracting more and more foreign students to study in Hungary. Scholarships can be applied for different higher education institution courses by citizens of those countries that have a valid/effective bilateral educational work plan agreement signed by the Hungarian Ministry of Human Resources.
Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program These scholarships are handled by Balassi Institute Hungarian Scholarship Board Office which works in close cooperation with the Hungarian Ministry of Human Resources. At present Stipendium Hungaricum scholarships are available in 24 countries: e.g. Argentina, Japan, Jordania, Kazakhstan, China, Lebanon, Macedonia, Mongolia, Tunisia, Uruguay, Vietnam Possibilities regarding other counties are continuously extending.
Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program Available scholarships: Undergraduate studies (full BA or BSc programs) Graduate programs (full MA or MSc programs) Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Dentistry programs Full PhD program Admission criteria: successful entrance exam. The duration of the programs may be different for different programs is determined by the actual law in force. The duration of the PhD programs according to the actual law in force is 36 months. Other scholarships coordinated by the Balassi Institute Hungarian Scholarship Board Office Operates since 2007 under the auspices of the Balassi Institute. Offers the following scholarships for foreign students: Semester/partial studies (3-10 months) Postgraduate studies (3-21 days or 1-10 months) Full PhD programmes (36 months) Partial PhD programmes (10 months) Postdoctoral studies, research (1-10 months) Research stay (3-21 days or 1-10 months) Summer courses (2-4 weeks). Hungarian Scholarship Board Office (HSB) Application possible in two different ways: 1. Work plans and bilateral agreements: The HSB welcomes applications by citizens of countries which have a valid/effective educational work plan with Hungary, or a bilateral agreement signed by the Hungarian Ministry of Human Resources and the relevant ministry of the given country. 2. Scholarship Pool: In 2005 the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Hungary established the Scholarship Pool allowing for applications for all HSB scholarship types.
