The University of Applied Sciences (FH) bfi Vienna is a non-profit educational institution which is a wholly owned affiliate company of bfi Vienna. Today, the University of Applied Sciences bfi Vienna is one of the leading Universities of Applied Sciences in Austria. 4 E U-Awards FH bfi Vienna in the European Top League In 2013, the FH bfi Vienna was the only Viennese university to be awarded the ECTS-Label and the Diploma Supplement Label by the EU. The Diploma Supplement Label was first awarded in 2005, and the ECTS Label in Since then, both labels have been constantly reconfirmed by the EU Commission. This makes the FH bfi Vienna part of the Bologna elite. ECTS Label EU Quality Seal and Quality Indicator The European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) is supposed to make studying transparent and comparable throughout Europe. With this award, the high level of internationalisation at the FH bfi Vienna is recognised. Exchange semesters and internships are easily recognised and integrated into the regular course of studies. 4

19 Research A subsidiary of The University of Applied Sciences bfi Vienna focuses on three strategically significant research fields: Regulation of Financial Markets and Risk Management for Banks and Insurance Companies, Regional Competition, and Management of Project-Oriented Enterprises, through which the FH has established itself on the (Viennese) research map. On top of these, every degree programme pursues practice-oriented research and development activities. Many study programmes are oriented towards questions and requirements by partners in business and various institutions. 22 Press Release Two Master Degrees for the Price of One Marcel Zwygart has completed one degree in European Economy and Business Management. Still, he can call two master degrees his own, i.e. one by the FH bfi Vienna and one by École Supérieure de Commercede Dijon. The Swiss student opted for a double-degree master at the FH bfi Vienna, which means that the exams taken at one partner university will be recognised at the other and vice versa. Zwygart did two semesters of the four required at the well-reputed business university in Dijon. This was a great chance, said the thirty-one-year-old, who would otherwise not have had the opportunity to study at such a good university. Tuition fees at the Grande École are 8,500 euros per year but Zwygart only had to pay the fees required at the FH bfi Vienna (i.e euros per semester).
