MORNING ACTIVITIES Students choose one of the following programme options and attend 3 hours of classes per morning. PERFORM ING ARTS Utilising our exceptional theatre and performing arts venues, students will receive specialised musical and theatrical coaching to develop their individual skills. Musical workshops aimed at developing instrumental and vocal skills in a variety of genres will build performing and recording confidence. Beginner to advanced performers can contribute to an ensemble and perform in a musical theatre performance. For those students interested in composition and songwriting, their creative ideas could form a part of our workshops, allowing them to experiment and receive feedback from our accomplished teachers. Drama students will receive specialist master classes with our in-house professional acting coach in movement and speaking skills, whilst building self-confidence and an ability to work with others. Students will work closely as an ensemble to develop and perform an original final showcase performance and their skills will be available to be applied beyond Summer Camp. L A NGUA GE E NGL ISH OR G ERMAN Focused language tuition, in either English or German, delivered at each student s particular level and within a fun and active classroom environment. Language acquisition via reflection on each student s own culture will enrich their understanding of their own culture and help discover a new one. Learning a new language will open a window into intercultural understanding and help develop critical thinking skills. Students will also attend application classes where their learnt language is directly applied to real world settings - a truly fun way to explore language and enjoy Austria at the same time! SPORT Sporting performance is more than just passion and ability. Trained sport coaches lead students not only in participating in a number of different sports and outdoor activities but also into a discovery of the science behind sports - covering areas of human physiology, psychological skills training, nutritional adaptations, performance principles and methods. This is key learning that can be applied to sport, study and life. AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES Students are encouraged to sample a range of activities or they can focus on a particular activity and master advanced skills while in the Summer Camp: Hiking across the mountains Rock climbing with spectacular views Canoeing and kayaking in the lake Cycling around the lake Swimming both at water parks and in the lake Overnight camping at the foot of the Alps Cultural tours in Salzburg

ca re B O A R D I N G A N D P A S T O R A L C A R E Every Summer Camp student is allocated to a boarding house. House Parents and other boarding staff oversee the pastoral needs of students in their care through highly effective House staff teams. St. Gilgen International School has four lovely boarding houses, which are former village hotels, each near the centre of the village. Our Boarding Houses are all-age, thereby creating a family atmosphere and a genuine home from home. All student bedrooms are en-suite. Boys and girls live in separate boarding houses and each student shares a room with one other student. Summer Camp students enjoy a range of healthy menu options in our unique catering environment using excellent local restaurants. We serve local cuisine as well as a range of international dishes and all our meals are made from fresh local ingredients. Salads, vegetables and fruit are freely available and vegetarian and other special diets can be catered for. All our staff welcome contact with parents by email or telephone to ensure the children in their care are happy and fulfilled. There is a school nurse in our medical centre during the Summer Camp and the school doctor is based in the village.
