I. Virtual Desktop Client Installation\ 1. System Requirements a. VMware Horizon View Client for Windows requires of the following operating systems: i. Standard x86 or x86 64 bit compatible desktop or laptop computer ii. At least 1 GB of memory (RAM) iii. 32 bit or 64 bit Windows 8, Enterprise or Pro edition iv. 32 bit or 64 bit Windows 7 SP1 or no service pack, Home, Enterprise, Ultimate or Professional Edition v. 32 bit Windows Vista SP2, Home, Enterprise, Ultimate, or Business edition vi. 32 bit Windows XP SP3, Home or Professional edition 2. From a browser window enter mypc.wvc.edu 3. Click on Install VMware Horizon View Client 4. Download and the client from the VMware website by choosing the operating system type it will be installed into. 5. Click on Go to Downloads 6. Click on the Download button
7. At browser prompt choose either Run or Save As from the options pop up bar. 8. Run installation with all default options and features (Requires local administrator privileges) 9. Click Install.

II. 10. Reboot computer at pop up prompt. Connect to the service 1. Start client application 2. Enter host name of the View Connection Server = mypc.wvc.edu 3. Make sure Log in as current user: domain\username is unchecked. 4. Click OK at this prompt
5. Enter username and password in the blank fields a. Username format can be in either domain\username or use the full UPN of the end users credentials (jdoe@wvc.edu). b. Set Domain the domain option to the appropriate domain i. Students = STUDENT ii. Staff = WVCADMIN iii. Faculty = Either 6. Click OK at the change password notice if present
7. Skip to step 11 if this popup does not appear. 8. Enter your temporary password into the Old Password field 9. Enter your new password in the New Password field 10. Renter your password again to confirm in the Confirm field 11. Click OK at the prompt.
12. Click Connect at the desktop options window 13. Allow the connection process to complete a. The View connection window will automatically maximize. b. Any local attached USB devices will be detected and presented by the View client to the floating desktop session. c. If your device is not present this means the appropriate drivers were not available to the operating system. 14. Choose the traditional Logoff option from the start menu to logoff and disconnect the View session.
III. VMware Blast HTML Web Access 1. System Requirements a. 2. From a browser window enter mypc.wvc.edu 3. Click on the HTML Web Access option 4. Click Accept on the Disclaimer popup
5. Enter user credentials at prompt and choose appropriate domain a. Staff choose WVCADMIN b. Students choose STUDENT 6. Change password at prompt if required
7. Click on the monitor icon 8. Desktop will load
9. To logoff go to Start and Log Off 10. Click on Close at the popup window 11. Click Log Out again to disconnect from HTML Web Access
12. Click Yes again 13. Click on Connect to mypc.wvc.edu to reconnect or close browser window or click on Home button icon on the top right hand corner to revert back to the start of the login process.
Troubleshooting View Client a. What to do if View Client Exits unexpectedly a. Restart View Client b. Change connection type from PCoIP to RDP c. Verify you can reach mypc.wvc.edu from a browser d. Try connecting using HTML web access e. Reinstall View Client f. Contact WVC IT Helpdesk b. Reset a Desktop c.
