Testing Lab Meets ASI/EMA CCA Standards for Performance, Installation and Operation AFL s accessory products are manufactured in Duncan, SC, in our facility that is certified to ISO 14001 and ISO 9001:2008 standards. With 10,000 sq. ft. of open testing space, our substation accessories are designed and tested to meet ASI/EMA CCA standards for performance, installation and operation. The test lab allows AFL engineers to perform testing for strength, vibration, fatigue, heat rise, current cycle, insulator and flashover. Additionally the lab can do EXJE electrical equipment installation. Vital to new product development is our 3D printer which provides a cost-effective way for Engineering to develop prototypes for fit checks and supply samples of new parts quickly. The 3D printer enables casting tools to be made in days instead of weeks giving AFL an advantage over competitors. We use ABS Plastic which is much stronger than old sand plaster formerly used.
