CHAPTER 1: INSTALLING ONEDRIVE FOR BUSINESS OneDrive for Business is a cloud-based file storage system that can be configured to work with a variety of devices. On your home computer, you can configure OneDrive for Business so that your library syncs on all your devices. Files that you save to the OneDrive for Business library on your computer will be automatically synced to the cloud. Files that you save to the cloud version of OneDrive for Business will also be synced to the library on your computer. Complete these steps to configure OneDrive for Business on your Mac workstation. 1. Open Managed Software Center by selecting the dock icon. Managed Software Center displays. 2. Select the Microsoft OneDrive for Business Install button. An example is shown below. OneDrive for Business will begin to install. 1
3. After OneDrive for Business finishes downloading to your computer, double-click the OneDrive for Business icon located in your Applications list. OneDrive for Business will begin to install. 4. Select the Getting Started button to continue. You will be prompted to enter your login credentials to verify your OneDrive account. Enter your USC email address and the corresponding password in the appropriate fields. 2
5. Select the Sign In button. Your login credentials will be verified. Next, OneDrive will prompt you to choose a OneDrive for Business folder location. 6. Select the Choose OneDrive for Business Folder Location button, located at the bottom of the screen. A screen displaying the default location for your OneDrive library on your computer displays. 3
7. If you want to change the location of the OneDrive library, select the Change Path button. If you want to keep the default location, select the Next button. 8. The location of your OneDrive library is displayed. Select the Choose this location button to select the location displayed as the location for your OneDrive library. 9. Your OneDrive library is displayed and the installation and configuration processes are complete. Repeat these steps as is appropriate. 4
CHAPTER 2: ACCESSING ONEDRIVE FOR BUSINESS OneDrive for Business provides the ability to store your files in one location that can be accessed from any work station or device with an Internet connection. You can sync files across multiple devices, or access them through Microsoft Outlook on the Internet. This guide explains how to access OneDrive for Business on your Mac work station via a Finder window/screen or via an Internet browser. Accessing OneDrive for Business from Your Mac Workstation 1. Open a Finder screen and select OneDrive for Business from the menu. Ensure that you select OneDrive for Business, as you may have other versions installed on your workstation. OneDrive for Business displays. 5
2. OneDrive for Business visually appears as a Finder screen. The contents are saved to cloud storage, making them accessible from any workstation with an internet connection. An example of how OneDrive for Business might appear is displayed below. You can save documents and other files directly to OneDrive for Business, or you can drag and drop files to OneDrive for Business, as needed. 6
