St George s Chapel within the castle precincts is the spiritual home of the Order of the Garter, the oldest order of chivalry in the world. Founded at Windsor by Edward III in 1348, its Knights still attend a service of thanksgiving in the chapel of their patron, St George, processing in their robes and insignia through the castle precincts. Enjoy a tour followed by free time for lunch in Windsor. Afternoon: we visit Kew Gardens, the famous botanic garden with the world s largest collection of living plants. Kew boasts peaceful landscapes, colourful seasonal plants, tropical glasshouses and historic buildings, all situated on the edge of the banks of the River Thames.
