Bologna Information Package for Public Administration Department BOLOGNA PROGRAM INFORMATION Program Description History: Bachelor s degree in Department of Public Administration taking part under the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences is founded and started education in 2004. Also its gave its first graduates in 2009. Goal: Department of Public Administration aim to an individual who is not only aware of the technical procedures of Turkish public administration, but also of the social structure of our country. Moreover, she or he is capable of understanding and following up on international developments and able to reason analytically and to verbalize his ideas explicitly and coherently in Turkish and English. Most important of all, she or he has internalized the concept of "public interest", and is capable to compete in the private sector, with a face turned towards the world and a heart turned towards his country. Objective(s): Connected to the Kemalist idea equipped with modern and scientific talent, "public interest" is to educate candidates which protect the modern manager. Qualification Awarded: When program is completed successfully, it provides sufficient students have undergraduate diploma in Public Administration Department. Bachelor s Degree in Department of Public Administration is awarded to those who have successfully completed all of the curriculum requirements. Level of Qualification: First Cycle Admission Requirements: ÖSYM rules and conditions apply. The general requirements explained in General Admission Requirements of Information on the Institution part are applied for admission of students. Students who have started studies in other universities within or outside of the country may apply for their recognition. The recognition record is unique for each student and therefore the procedure is carried out accordingly before the start of each academic year. More information about general admission requirements can be found in the catalogue of Information on the Institution. Under an established exchanges program or one approved by the University, exchange students from abroad may be accepted for studies on the courses taught in English. Or, if they are confident in Turkish, they may then enroll any courses, running in Turkish, shown on the Course Structure diagram. Recognition of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) According to, regulations about passing, double major, minor and transfer among institutions in universities between associate degree and undergraduate degree Definition of formal education is that transfering in universities, in-formal and non-formal certificate programs are at starting level. Recognition of previous education does not define in all programs of Yeditepe University. Other Requirements This is a first cycle degree program in the Public Administration. (240 ECTS). Students will be awarded, on successful completion of the program and gain competencies, a degree of Bachelor in Public Administration. Students must have at least 2.00 CGPA over 4.00 to graduate.

Program Profile First of all, our students are in our country as well as the social structure of Turkey's administrative structure of the knowledge in the world who are aware of and able to monitor changes in the spacious and analytical thinking, have the ability to express their thoughts in English and Turkish, "public interest" concept assimilated and in the light of the ability to compete with private institutions high, her face facing the contemporary world, the land of his heart is to train candidates for the administrator. In line with its vision of the university, taking part in both national and international environments, contributing to the development of public administration and equipped with knowledge and skills in accordance with the expectations of the public sector, with the universal professional ethics, contemporary and compliance with the principles of Atatürk is to educate students in a section. Employment Opportunities of the Graduates and Transition to the Upper Level: Our graduates are educated and trained as professionals with qualifications that are required in all sectors in our continuously evolving and improving country. To provide this Public Administration Department is has one of the most important work force with its team trained in Public institutions, banking, international organizations, think-tanks, insurance companies as a controller or vice controller and other disciplines for the needs of both private and public sector. Access to Further Studies The graduates holding Bachelor s Degree are eligible to apply to Master programs at national and/or international level both in the same and in related disciplines. Public administration department has not a top level (master) program yet but there is Local Authorities and Governance master program that application is on process. Examinations, Regulation, Assignment and Grading Stıdents are required to take a mid-term examination and/or complete other assiged projects/homework during the semester and, additionally, are required to take a final examination and/or complate a final project for course evaluation. The assessment for each course is discribed in detail in Examination, Regulation, Assesment and Grading. Graduation Requirements: Graduation requirements are explained in the section Qualification Requirements and Regulations. Also students should successfully complete their 80 hours corporate internship. The experience and required work load obtained in the internship period is taken into consideration in the planning of the program, course descriptions and execution and study loads. Program Facilities There are 1 Prof., 2 Asst.Prof.Dr. and 2 Project Assistants which work full time in the department. In addition, there are 3 Prof, 1 Associated Prof., 6 Asst.Prof.Dr. and 5 instructors which work in half-time in department. PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES Theoretical, Factual PLO1. Students should be know contemporary concept, theory and models, international principles, basic and updated informations about public administration field and also know the historical development of Turkish Public Administration. PLO2. Students grasp core basic knowledge about in the academic disciplines closely related academical and factual knowledge, scientific perspective supported by training tools to follow and evaluate this knowledge. PLO3. Students adopt scientific perspective, aware of Kemalist thought that give importance to scientific thoughts from the point of public administration and students also should be able to use scientific research methods for research and analysis. Cognitive, Practical PLO4. Students should be able to transfer knowledge and ability related to public administration field to academical, professional business life to personnel and team member.they should show that they have the ability to decision-making, implementation, within the framework of the knowledge and they have the ability to analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data PLO5. Students should know that the structure and processes in the field of public administration skills besides that basic knowledge of the international level within the framework of the universal principles about legal, political, economic, social and psychological issues.they should have the ability to identify problems and to suggest solutions. Ability to Work Independently to Take Responsibility PLO6. Students should know where to reach the needed information in the field of public administration and taking responsibility for solving the problems that they may face in practice and have competence to make an independent research and study. PLO7. Students should be able to design and plan projects to achieve organizational goals and objectives as an executive or as a team member. They should manage the processes for their goals and evaluate their responsibilities. Learning Ability PLO8. Students should critically evaluate knowledge and skills gained to catch global changes that they can produce flexible and creative solutions. PLO9. Students should catch the rapid changes in the field of public administration, and to provide their personal and professional development; they can update their knowledge and know the importance of life-long learning. Communication and Social Capability PLO10. Students who has obtain knowledge, skills, thoughts and advises about public administration field should show that they have received perfect communication skills by transfering their ideas to people who has responsibility on institutional level. PLO11. Students should have minimum English to understand, follow and evaulate global Dynamics.They sould be able to share their knowledge, working and evaulation about fiels on international or national academical and professional field as well as Turkish. PLO12. Students should respect differences between cultures and individuals with knowledge and skills about public administration can make connection on social and proffessional fields. Area Specific Capability PLO13. Students should understand individiual, proffessional, social and ethic concept which are important concepts of public administration field and aware of the practice of social and, worklife.they can act property inside of institutions with understanding of importance of principle on social field. Students should analyse knowledge and skills with stakeholders of organizations in the field of public adminstration and inside of academical and proffessional workings evaluate and perform effectively with connection. PLO15. Students should follow current development on the field of public administration has ability to encouraging innovation. PLO16. Students who have enough consiousness in modern societies basic genesis concept like importance of social justice, universality of social rights, cultures values with using knowledge about public administration field, should know the needs of active citizenship with individiual, social and ecological dimension of social responsibility. Students obtain consciousnes about occupational health and safety for providing institutional sustainability on public administration field and act appropriate ethichal and responsible principless.
