Hello Everyone, With the year drawing to a close, I need to stop and thank my staff for their hard work and support. Not only support for me, but for each other as well. We had set some goals for ourselves for 2015 and I feel as though we have reached many of them. The most important goal for us was to restructure the kitchen and how we operate. That took a lot of cooperation along with trial and error to get us where we are today. It s easy for me to take the credit for all of your experiences and I really enjoy it when you share with me some of your highlights. But truth be told, I am not doing it alone back there, but am very lucky to have such a great team to work with. Additionally through restructuring, it was important to maintain a really positive work environment. Where everyone could not only depend on each other, but really enjoy each others company as well. We knew that if we maintained a positive work environment that it would be infectious. That a positive work environment would motivate everyone to be better at their jobs, try new things and most importantly not be afraid to fail. While everyone and everyday is not perfect, I couldn t be more proud of our team and their commitment to excellence in themselves. It may come as no surprise that it is always in our minds that we are trying to impress the membership with the food that comes out of the kitchen. So in 2016, we will set new goals and work toward them, to make the dining experience even better than before. Happy New Year to you all, Eric Leyden Executive Chef CLUB CLOSINGS (Private Events) If one room is closed for a private party, we are happy to serve you in our other dining areas. JANUARY Jan 1... Since last month s trivia question was rather easy and answered correctly by many members, I decided to make this month s trivia question a little more difficult. This month s question has 3 parts: 1st What year did the Nebraska Club move into its current location? 2nd What year did the Nebraska Club complete its first remodel? 3rd Who was the General Manager of the Nebraska Club during the time that these events occurred? The first member to contact General Manager Tom Westfall with the correct answers will win a fabulous prize! Good Luck!

Dear Members, Time just seemed to fly by this year, and I always try to take a moment when the New Year starts and reflect on some of the accomplishments and successes that we achieved at the Nebraska Club the previous year. Here is a list of improvements that we made to the Nebraska Club in 2015: New projector for use in member power point presentations Upright piano in banquet room for functions and civic group use New padded piano covers for upright and baby grand pianos New Capitol and legislative themed art work in our club side dining rooms New wine lockers for newly formed Nebraska Club wine program New Riedel Wine glasses New Ice Machine New Char broiler for kitchen New automated projection screen in Capitol Room New wireless microphone New club laptop computer New piece of etched glass to replace cracked piece in main dining room New Nebraska Club website Here is a list of updates that are currently planned for 2016: 2 new 60 portable wireless monitors on wheeled carts for civic and special event power point needs Additional wine lockers for growing wine club program New drapes/window shades in dining and banquet areas Redesign of French doors in the Capitol Room Several kitchen appliance upgrades New Nebraska themed art work coming in banquet dining area As you can see, much time, effort and resources are put into improving the Nebraska Club. Many of these improvements were long overdue, and some are just necessary improvements that are meant to enhance your experience as members of the Nebraska Club. I want to thank all of my staff, Board of Directors and members for all of their hard work and support this year. This was undeniably a team effort and the credit should be shared by all. I look forward to a wonderful 2016 with many new improvements and surprises to come!
