Mac user installation procedure for Pulse Secure VPN to enable access to KSC IT resources remotely Using Safari, visit https://kscvpn.keene.edu, the KSC Pulse Secure Access Service web site. Other browsers may not be compatible with the site. Enter your KCS NetID and password at the following page. Click Login. Depending on your browser security settings, your may be presented with a pop-up box asking to allow the site to download and install the Host Checker application. This application determines the security posture of your device with respect to KSC minimum standards. Once your have passed the security posture standards, the following page is displayed. For computers already running the UNH Pulse Client (used for access to Banner and timesheet approval) You can add the KSC VPN connection to that same client. 1) Open the Pulse Secure client 2) Click the Pencil icon to Edit Connections 3) Click Add >> enter the connection information >> Click Save
4) Click Connect on the KSC VPN 5) Enter your NetID and password
If this is a new installation of the Pulse client, please do the following: 1) Using Internet Explorer, go to https://kscvpn.keene.edu and log in with your NetID and password 2) The KSC Host Checker will download, install and run this may take several minutes 3) If your computer meets all of the requirements of the host checker, you ll be successfully logged into kscvpn.keene.edu. Click on Start in the bottom right to start the Pulse client. 4) This will install and configure the Pulse Secure client on your computer and you can then choose Connect on the client to connect to the KSC VPN. Once the client is installed and configured, you can just connect to the KSC VPN directly from the Pulse Client
Windows Machines To begin a Remote Desktop Session to access P: and Q: 1) Connect to KSC VPN connection via the Pulse Client 2) Launch Remote Desktop Connection in any operating system, click the Windows key and the letter R. In the box that pops up, type in mstsc OR: a. Windows 7: Click Start >> start typing Remote Desktop and click on Remote Desktop Connection b. Windows 8: Search for remote in the Start screen and select Remote desktop connection under the Apps area c. Windows 10: Search for remote and launch Remote Desktop Connection 3) Type in: kscremote.keene.edu and click Connect 4) When prompted by the Windows 8 remote desktop session, log in with your NetID and password
5) To access P: and Q: from kscremote.keene.edu, double-click Explorer folder icon on your desktop Other information about using Pulse Client and remote desktop: You may configure Outlook 2013 for use while you re using kscremote.keene.edu. Launch Outlook 2013 from the desktop and you will be stepped through the configuration. You will only be able to save documents to the P: drive or the Q: drive. When you are finished using kscremote.keene.edu, please sign out of kscremote.keene.edu by doing the following: o Click the Start button (Windows symbol) in the bottom left hand corner o From the Start menu screen, click your name in the upper right corner and click Sign Out To disconnect from the Pulse client, click on the Pulse client icon in the bottom right hand corner, go to KSC VPN and choose Disconnect
