Registration Information Advance registration is required for all programs. Registrations close two weeks prior to the program date or when the program is sold out. Grandchildren (as general public registration or as part of your membership if you have a Grandparent Zoo Membership level or above) Zoo Members receive priority registration and a discount on program fees. Participants must be the appropriate age or grade level and can only register for one session of each camp topic or program title. Processing fees will apply for duplicate registrations, cancellations, and or transfers. Who Can I Register? Whether you choose mail-in or online registration, you can register: Yourself Immediate family members residing in the same household (spouse and children) NOTE: Zoo Members are not eligible to register nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, out-of-town guests, etc. Extended family members, friends, neighbors, and out-of-town guests must register themselves and their household members separately. When Does Registration Open? Early Registration opens March 8, 2016. Zoo Members registrations are processed first followed by the General Public registrations. Mail-in/drop-off registrations must be received by Friday, March 4, 2016 at 4 p.m. Online registration opens first for Zoo Members on March 8, and then for General Public on March 10. Visit our website for exact dates and times. Daily Registrations will include any registrations received after March 4, 2016. These will be processed upon completion of the Early Registrations, in the order received. Buddy Registrations We offer buddy registration for our Camp Joey, Camp KangaZoo and Teen Camp programs for mailed-in forms only. Listing a buddy during online registration does NOT guarantee that they will be together. It is only a request that can be fulfilled IF both children register themselves for the same Camp session. Registration Information Mail Or Drop-Off Registrations Before mailing or dropping off your envelope, check to make sure it includes the following (any missing information may delay your registration while we attempt to contact you): 1. Completed registration form(s) All Membership, household and participant information. Original signature(s) on the Terms and Conditions of each adult participant and the parent/legal guardian for participants under the age of 18. 2. Complete Payment Credit card information and signature. Check A SEPARATE CHECK is required for each program. A fee will be assessed for any checks returned due to insufficient funds. All checks should be made payable to Saint Louis Zoo Education Department. Please write your phone number on your check. 3. ONE Camp KangaZoo buddy may be included. Please refer to the Buddy Registration section on the website. 4. Please read the following information: Confirmed program dates and times (these may be your 2nd or 3rd choice). Special notes. Waiting list information if program sessions you selected were sold out. NOTE: We reserve the right to cancel programs due to low enrollment or extenuating circumstances. Full refunds will be issued. Wait List During the processing of your mail-in form, you will be placed on the wait list(s) if ALL of your session choices for a requested program are sold out. If you are placed on a wait list, we will not process your payment for that program. We will notify you if an opening occurs. 4

Registration Information Online Registration Online Registration will open for Zoo Members on March 8 at 9 a.m., and for General Public on March 10 at 2 p.m. Please visit stlzoo.org for detailed information on how to register online. Cancellations We require at least two-weeks notice for refund requests. Please notify the Education Department as soon as possible at (314) 646-4544, option #6. Camp Children attend these programs on their own, unaccompanied by a parent or other adult. Camp Joey For children age 4 - entering kindergarten who can use the restroom independently. Children must be 4 years old by their program date. No exceptions will be made. Get ready, little ones! It s time to hop out of the pouch and into the Zoo at Camp Joey! Our days will be filled with animal antics, habitat ventures and Zoo fun as we experience and appreciate the animal world together. The Camp Joey theme this summer is Animals in Our World. Campers will be learning about the animals living in their homes and backyards, as well as those at the Zoo and in the wild. Camp Camp KangaZoo For students entering 1st - 6th Explore the Zoo, meet the animals, learn amazing things and make new friends at Camp KangaZoo! Come year after year and learn something new each time. Campers are divided into age-specific groups for most activities, and are together each day for an introduction, lunch and snack. For more information about Camp, please check out the FAQ on our website, stlzoo.org/education. A detailed information packet will be sent in the spring. Once again, campers can double their Camp fun. Choose Aquatic Animals or Animals Everywhere, or best of all, register for BOTH! Aquatic Animals: This camp will focus on the lifeblood of the planet water. Campers will learn how animals live with it, in it or without it, and how water supports all life on Earth even helping to regulate the climate! Campers will visit the Zoo s animal swimmers, splashers, dabblers and divers, and get their own hands wet in awesome aquatic crafts, outdoor games, super science activities and all of the things that make Zoo Camp great. Camp Primate Palooza Can t get enough of monkeys, lemurs and apes? Join us for a solid week of activities, games and up-close observation of these fascinating animals in the Primate House and Fragile Forest. At this camp, you ll spend lots of time at Zoo habitats practicing the same Zoo detective skills that Zoo vets, keepers, and researchers use. Camp Teen Camp Aquatic Animals For students entering 7th - 9th Too old for Camp? Then you re ready for Teen Camp; an awesome, summer adventure for teens! Teen Camp combines all of the best aspects of camp fun, friends, music, crafts, skits, live animal encounters and awesome counselors with more in-depth information about Zoo animals and conservation, and a special aquatic field experience! We will explore forests, fields, springs, creeks, and ponds, searching for the creatures that inhabit these ecosystems. This program offers a unique S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering and math) opportunity by allowing campers to experience a variety of field biology techniques and use these techniques to take data for an active field study. Lodging is in primitive cabins with a central shower house and restroom. All meals, lodging and transportation are included. An art project, game and observation activity will complete the day. A Saint Louis Zoo snack and lunch will be provided. Zoo ALIVE Zoo ALIVE! Active Leaders In Volunteer Education For high school students age 15 and up Join Zoo ALIVE, the Zoo s year-round volunteer program for teens! Zoo ALIVE volunteers help with Camp KangaZoo, overnight programs, and other awesome Zoo programs and events throughout the year. In Zoo ALIVE you will: Gain valuable volunteer experience Meet other teens who love animals and kids Learn about wildlife, nature, animal science, and the Zoo Participate in conservation projects Enhance your leadership and communication skills Make a difference! Mandatory Requirements: Volunteer for at least two activities per month for one year, including two consecutive weeks at Camp KangaZoo. Attend training on either Saturday, June 4, or Friday, June 10, 9 a.m. 4 p.m. Attend a monthly meeting at the Zoo, first or second Sundays, 5-7 p.m. Visit Zoo ALIVE at stlzoo.org/education for more information, application materials and deadlines. These programs are designed for caregivers to interact with, and help facilitate the learning of the registered program participant. Dive into a class that immerses you in the wonders of our oceans and make dissecting discoveries along the way! In this four-day program, students will investigate the many kinds of animals that call the ocean and other saltwater environments their home. Students will practice techniques used by marine biologists, including the importance of water chemistry and how to monitor water quality. Participants will make scientific observations through dissections of a fish and squid as they learn about their anatomy and survival needs. Microscopes will help students discover and view the unseen parts of the marine world. We will explore our connection and our role here in St. Louis in the conservation of our waterways and oceans. Youth Junior Marine Biologist Beforeand After-Care For students entering 5th - 7th Instructors: Seasonal Instructors, Zoo Staff and Zoo ALIVE Volunteers Before- and after-care is available each day for an additional fee. Participants may be dropped off by 7:15 a.m. to enjoy a continental breakfast (cereal, fruit, milk, juice) or can eat a breakfast they bring. Indoor activities will be offered until 8:45 a.m., when participants will be escorted to their program for check-in. After-care will run from 3-6 p.m. Participants will visit Zoo grounds, and enjoy small group activities until pick-up at 6 p.m. Snacks will be provided or participants can bring their own snack. Scientists use bones, teeth, tracks, insects and scat to investigate animal mysteries. In this class, you will be the scientist. Learn to recognize factors necessary to estimate an organism s time of death. We will apply our problem-solving skills to solve an on-grounds mystery.
