SOAK UP THE FUN AT THE Y 2016 Summer Day Camps YMCA OF GREATER LOUISVILLE CLARK AND FLOYD COUNTY BRANCH 812.283.9622 ymcasi.org

BENEFITS OF Y SUMMER DAY CAMPS 1 2 Kids enrolled in summer day camps at the Y enjoy a variety of imaginative activities that nurture their spirits, challenge their minds and strengthen their bodies - all while learning about themselves and the world around them. Their summer fun is led by caring staff so they can safely enjoy activities like arts and crafts, sports, swimming and more. Children at Y day camps learn the importance of healthy choices and active lifestyles while developing teamwork and leadership skills. Y summer day camps are for everyone! We believe every child should be given the opportunity to experience Y summer day camps. That s why we offer so many choices, locations and themes throughout Floyd and Clark Counties. Reduced program fees and financial assistance are available for those who qualify.

2 YOUTH DEVELOPMENT Nurturing the potential of every child and teen. At the Y, we believe that all kids deserve the chance to discover who they are and what they can achieve, and that the values and skills they learn early are vital building blocks for quality of life. With our four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility and the 40 Developmental Assets as our guide, we work with your children every day to help them have fun while realizing their potential. At Y summer camps, kids learn to share, make new friends, learn new skills and most importantly, learn how to be themselves. HEALTHY LIVING Improving the nation s health and well-being. We give kids the opportunity to exert energy, discover who they are and what they can achieve, and be accepted among each other. We help children learn to make healthy choices. Water is our drink of choice to provide proper hydration, and snacks are monitored for sugar, fat grams and calories from fat. Kids stay active at Y camps with games, sports, swimming and plenty of outdoor physical activity to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
