Scope of delivery Wiring Modulator Rear View Camera Final operations After Installation you need to code the system to Rear View Camera. Note Attention: Before installing the RVC system you need to check whether the car is retrofitted with a video interface not developed by Kufatec GmbH. In case a non-kufatec video interface is fitted we are not able to guaranty the absolute operation of the RVC system. You may need to remove the non-kufatec video interface. Please take note that the installation can only be done by vehicles which are using a 12V battery. In particular trucks, all-terrain vehicles and commercial diesel cars including taxis are running often with 24V batteries and an installationis not possible in these kind of vehicles. Take care to ensure no devices are affected or damaged that are relevant to security or safe operation of the vehicle. This unit is only for use in the following vehicles. Only connections described within this instruction guide are allowed or required to use for installation. We advise you that these units process datas out of the CAN - protocol from the vehicle. As the supplier of this device we don t know the overall system you are working with. If our device causes damage due to other changes made by to the vehicle Kufatec GmbH assumes no liability. Installation instruction Please remove the cover of the hatch back (Image 1, 2). Furthermore remove the cover of the trunk on the right hand side. You will need a gap where you are gonig to put a wire through into the front part of the vehicle. Image 1 Image 2 Remove the other Covers shown on Image 3 and 4. Image 3 Image 4 Please loos the scrwes on the handle strip (Image 5) as well as the screw nuts on the Inside the hatch back (Image 6). Now you are able to remove the handle strip. Image 5 Image 6 3
Installation instruction Please lever the blind of the RVC by using a screw driver (Image 7). Put the RVC into the opening (Image 8) and wire the harness in the direction of the fuse box on the right hand side of the trunk. Image 7 Image 8 Loos the rubber beak (Image 9). Please wire the loom of the rear view cam along the factory fitted harnessess. Follow the C-Column up to the fuse box on the right hand side of the trunk (Image 10). Image 9 Image 10 Wire the video loom (green FAKRA connector) on the right hand side of the vehicle up to the glove box (Image 11). Please remove the entry strip in the back and front (Image 12). Please remove the glove box and wire the loom up to the navigation unit. Image 11 Image 12 4
Installation instruction Please remove the cover of the climate control. You just need to pull it. (Image 13). Loose the screws which are located behind (Image 14) and slide the splint shown on image 15 downwarts. Now you are able to take out the navigation unit. Image 13 Image 14 Image 15 Please connect the green FAKRA connector on the back of the navigation unit (Image 17). Now you can put the navigation unit back to its source. Please remove the 6-pole connector (Image 18) on the ride hand side of the trunk. Image 16 Image 17 Image 18 Please connect the white loom coming from the delivered wiring to the White/Black wire PIN 3 (Image 19). In order to achieve a proper connection we recommend both crimping and soldering the new wires. Connect the Brown wire to the ground of the vehicle (Image 20). Connect the red loom to a steady plus source by using a fuse (5A) like shown on image 21. Image 19 Image 20 Image 21 The Installation has been finished. Check all wirings for proper connection. 5
