9th Annual Meeting of SFI People or Technologies: Where to Invest for the Future of Swiss Banking? The overall theme will be people and new technologies which are clearly the driving factors for the future of Swiss banking. Two parallel sessions will be offered in order to cover both topics. A panel discussion in German focusing on the positive combination of human and technological capital will round up the day. Please note that the panel discussion is open to the general public and admittance is free. People Sessions People are of the utmost importance in ensuring success. In the people sessions you will learn more about the needs and expectations of different players, hearing for example the view from a big bank and a headhunter. Thoughts on the future design of incentives will also be provided, as will answers to questions such as: Which skills are of the utmost importance to managing today s challenges? What talents are required for the future? Where do we hire the right people? What is in demand in the market? How do we cope with the current banking transformation? He is responsible for structured products & cross assets at Zürcher Kantonalbank. Vanini s research focus is on investment, risk management, and banking topics. He has conducted extensive research into operational risk and credit risk and is the author of numerous articles published in international finance and financial economics journals. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from ETH. Prof. Rajna Gibson Brandon, SFI and University of Geneva Rajna Gibson Brandon is the Swiss Finance Institute Professor of Finance at the University of Geneva, where she also directs the Geneva Finance Research Institute (GFRI). She is also Honorary Professor of Finance at the University of Lausanne and Director of Research at Swiss Finance Institute. A member of the Board of Directors of Swiss Re and of the Scientific Council of TCIP (Training Center for Investment Professionals), Gibson holds a PhD in Economics and Social Sciences and a degree in Business Administration from the University of Geneva. Prof. Claudio Loderer, Managing Director, Swiss Finance Institute Claudio Loderer is Managing Director of Swiss Finance Institute, Professor of Financial Management at the University of Bern, and Academic Director of the Rochester Bern Executive Programs. His research interests span corporate finance, corporate aging, corporate governance, compensation policies, entrepreneurship, and international finance. He received his PhD in Industrial Organization from the University of Rochester and has taught at the universities of Rochester, and Purdue Chicago, and at the Stern School of Business, New York University. 06

Wagner SFI and University of Zurich William Wolf Credit Suisse Dr. Maurice Zufferey Spencer Stuart Switzerland Prof. Rüdiger Fahlenbrach, SFI and EPFL Rüdiger Fahlenbrach is Swiss Finance Institute Associate Professor at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). Formerly on the faculty of the Ohio State University, he holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) and has research interests in corporate finance. Professor Fahlenbrach has published widely in the leading academic journals in finance. His research has been reported in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Le Temps, and NZZ. Prof. Alexander F. Wagner, SFI and University of Zurich Alexander F. Wagner is an associate professor of finance at the Swiss Finance Institute -- University of Zurich. He holds a PhD from Harvard University and degrees in Economics and Law from the Johannes Kepler University of Linz, Austria. His research interests are in corporate finance and governance, behavioral economics, and political economy. His work has been published in such journals as the American Economic Review, the Journal of Finance, and the Journal of Financial Economics. He is an independent counsel for PricewaterhouseCoopers and a member of the Board of Trustees of Swipra. William Wolf, Credit Suisse William Wolf is a Managing Director and Global Head of Talent Acquisition and Development for Credit Suisse AG. He manages campus and lateral hiring, training, leadership development, HR IT, workforce analytics, evaluation, assessment, and all promotion processes. He joined Credit Suisse from McKinsey & Company where he was a partner and leader in the Organization practice. He is responsible for the management of discretionary and advisory mandates and leads the development of IT tools and processes for advisory services in private banking. Ferretti, a member of the board of BSI Gamma Foundation, focuses his research on portfolio management and pure mathematics. He holds a Venia Legendi and a PhD in Mathematics from ETH. Jonathan Möller, foryouandyourcustomers Jonathan Möller is one of the pioneers of e-commerce, an author, and an expert in multichannel business. Since 1996, Möller has been consulting for companies throughout Europe. Previously, Möller founded and built up three international companies each with several hundred employees. Last fall, he published the Multichannel Guidelines 2014. The book is the first in a series that will continuously assist executives in meeting the challenges and opportunities of multichannel business. Michael Hartweg, Leonteq Securities AG Michael Hartweg is a Founding Partner of Leonteq Securities. He was responsible for building up the Trading, Structuring and Quants departments as well as the development of the platform around pricing and risk management. After heading the Structured Solutions and the White-labeling & Platform Development division, he is now responsible for Strategic Innovation & Business Intelligence initiatives. He earned his PhD in Financial Economics from Carnegie Mellon University. He has research interests in capital markets, corporate finance, market microstructure, and financial intermediation. His papers have been published in a variety of top academic journals including the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, and the Review of Financial Studies. Ulrich Voss, Avaloq Group AG Ulrich Voss is Avaloq s General Manager for Central & Eastern Europe and a member of the company s Executive Board. He began his career with McKinsey & Company in 1995, where he focused on banking technology and operations, becoming a partner in 2001. From 2009 to 2012 he was COO at HSH Nordbank and responsible for restructuring the bank s IT and operations. She has delivered sustainable achievements in key business functions at executive level, with a focus on strategy, technology, communication, and HR. This is supplemented by a proven track record in banking, specifically in the wealth management industry around the globe. She has established her own consulting boutique and holds several board mandates. She holds a PhD from the University of Zurich. Holger Spielberg, Credit Suisse AG Holger Spielberg joined Credit Suisse in 2014 in a global role as Head of Innovation. He has previous experience in a range of industries including payments, e-commerce, mobile services, telematics, and automotive. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Spielberg was Head of Mobile Payment & Retail Services at PayPal Deutschland. Previously, he spent 15 years in Silicon Valley as founder, business angel, and advisor to a number of start-ups, and he is currently a board member of Moj.io and Seedmatch.
