3 Welcome We are very pleased to welcome you to this year s retreat that takes place on our SFI Campus above Zurich, from August 24 to 27, While you can certainly expect stimulating input from our speakers, it is you, the participants, who will lay the foundations for lively and challenging debate. We hope this retreat, which focuses on key topics of leadership in a world of the new normal in wealth management, surpasses your expectations and provides you with enriching and stimulating input. To help you with the day-to-day schedule, we have compiled this guide, which includes the detailed program and some general information about the venue. 4 The SFI International Wealth Management Retreat 2014 Objective The SFI International Wealth Management Retreat 2014 focuses on the challenge of providing the right leadership in wealth management around the world with a particular emphasis on corporate governance, leading client relationships, and moving toward the most prestigious asset class of talentism. The retreat functions as a platform for senior executives who wish to better understand how to shape their businesses and who wish to test their views against research findings and the experience of their peers. The current environment for banking remains challenging, requiring new answers to numerous questions and raising new ones. That is why this year s retreat looks at where to find solutions in order to lead in the new wealth management. We specifically focus on three main topics: how to actively engineer wealth management in a changing governance environment, how to address leadership in client relations, and how to build and rely on sustainable talent strategies. The retreat targets senior executives, enabling them to: understand the strategic, organizational, and individual aspects of adapting to or better anticipating new challenges in wealth management discuss specific ideas and emerging best practices with top researchers, industry leaders, and distinguished peers from around the world strengthen their international network Concept The retreat provides a framework within which participants are able to openly address key issues faced in wealth management. Methods and tools specific to managing individual wealth, and based on world-class research and empirical evidence, are presented within this framework. CEOs and the most senior of executives and board members put these concepts into the contexts of the market and institutional culture. Challenging discussions then add to the individual experience of each participant so that true insights can be developed. Group work, case discussions, and social events are all finely tuned to achieve a maximum of mutual learning. Participant profile: Who will you meet? The retreat is specifically designed for senior executives from private-banking and wealthmanagement institutions, typically from a managing-director level or above. Admittance is selective, and Swiss Finance Institute takes great care to ensure an international mix of peers. Typically, two-thirds of participants are CEOs of a business area or sit on executive committees. Around two-thirds of participants come from outside Switzerland.

It supports and advances research, doctoral training, and education in banking and finance. 8 Jürg Zeltner became a member of the Group Executive Board in February 2009 and is CEO of UBS Wealth Management. He holds a diploma in business administration from the College of Higher Vocational Education in Bern and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. Zeltner is a board member of the German-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the UBS Optimus Foundation Board. Rüdiger Fahlenbrach is Professor at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and holds a senior chair at Swiss Finance Institute. He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton). Fahlenbrach has published in the leading academic journals in finance. His research has been reported in many large-circulation newspapers, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Le Temps, NZZ, Handelsblatt, Forbes Magazine, and USA Today. Urs Philipp Roth-Cuony is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Liechtenstein Financial Market Authority. He was CEO of the Swiss Bankers Association for 10 years and has held leading positions at UBS. He studied at the University of Zurich and was awarded a doctorate in law. (dr.iur.) Christoph Weber was appointed Head of Private Banking and a member of the Executive Board of Zürcher Kantonalbank, effective 1 August, Most recently, he was Head of Private Banking North and a member of the Executive Board at Banca del Gottardo. From 2000 to 2006, Weber was a member of the Executive Committee of AAM Privatbank Ltd., where he was responsible for sales to institutional and private clients, and a member of the Management Board of Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbak (BLKB), AAM having been part of the BLKB Group since Stephen Richards Evans has over thirty years of experience in a broad range of activities in the banking and finance industry. During that time he has held positions in corporate banking & finance, international banking in the UK, Germany, and Italy, and for over twenty years has specialized in private banking and high value clients business leadership roles in Asia and the Middle East. His senior roles have involved the formulation and execution of strategy, general management, oversight of regulatory and key stakeholder relations, and the direction and development of offers for key and core client relationships. Since 2010 he has headed the Standard Chartered Private Bank for Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. His role encompasses responsibility for the Private Bank s strategy in the hemisphere, and for its advisory and booking centers. He is currently based in Dubai. Richards Evans is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors and a former Member of the Hong Kong MA s Money Market and Practices Committee. He is also a Full Member of the Hong Kong Securities Institute. Donato Scognamiglio, CEO & partner of IAZI/CIFI, is a soughtafter speaker and real estate expert. IAZI/CIFI has offered a full range of real estate services since From complex real estate market analysis to asset valuation, benchmarking, and calculation of price indices, the company also develops software solutions for portfolio management and mortgage valuation.

9 Philippe Sormani is Chairman of the Board and a founding partner of IAZI/CIFI. Sormani is a much appreciated speaker and real estate expert. Iqbal Khan is Chief Financial Officer of the Private Banking & Wealth Management Division of Credit Suisse. He joined Credit Suisse in June 2013 from Ernst & Young where he was the Managing Partner of Assurance Financial Services, Switzerland, and a member of their Swiss Management Committee. Khan holds an LLM of International Business Law from the University of Zurich and is a Swiss Certified Trustee, Certified Accountant, Certified Financial Analyst, and Certified IFRS Accountant. Andrew Hogan is a Partner in the Consulting practice at PwC UK, based in London. He has 20 years of experience working with and consulting to private banks, wealth management organizations, and other financial services institutions. His functional experience lies in revenue growth strategy, new business model development, digital strategy, new operating models, customer analytics, and strategic marketing. He is one of the principal authors of PwC s Global Private Banking and Wealth Management Survey. Prior to joining the firm, Hogan worked at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) in Toronto. Tom Burroughes is Group Editor of ClearView Financial Media, publisher of WealthBriefing, WealthBriefingAsia, and Family Wealth Report. Burroughes joined ClearView in March 2008 having previously been Wealth Management Editor at The Business, a UK-based magazine, and prior to that having worked for Reuters. He has spoken at industry events and chaired meetings in Vienna, London, Guernsey, and Switzerland, and covered news in Asia and the US, as well as Europe. Burroughes has also spoken about the industry on BBC Television and Reuters TV. He is a member of the British-Swiss Chamber of Commerce. Heike Bruch has been a Professor and Director of the Institute for Leadership and Human Resources Management of the University of St.Gallen (Switzerland) since Bruch is member of the McKinsey Academic Sounding Board and of the Executive Board of the DGFP (German Association for Leadership). She advises and coaches managers and international organizations at board level on the subject of leadership, change, and high performance organizations. Bruch has received numerous academic awards and has written more than 110 articles and chapters of published collections. Rainer Strack is a Senior Partner and Managing Director at the Düsseldorf office of The Boston Consulting Group, having worked for the firm since He leads the People & Organization practice area in Europe and the HR topic worldwide. He has authored numerous articles and published in the Harvard Business Review. He has been a member of the Global Agenda Council for talent mobility of the World Economic Forum in Davos and presented twice on this topic. Strack has a Master s degree in Physics, a Master s degree in Business, and a PhD in Physics from RWTH Aachen University. In 2008, he was named an Honorary professor for strategic HR and People Management at Witten/Herdecke University, Germany.

10 Schedule and Fees Schedule The retreat runs from August 24, 5:00 p.m. (Sunday) to August 27, 2:30 p.m. (Wednesday). Presentations take place between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Evenings are reserved for special events. Venue The exclusive Hotel Bocken is part of the prestigious Credit Suisse training center of the same name and boasts a unique and secluded location in the countryside high above Lake Zurich.
