DocumentMall PPDM Upload Link Introduction Personal Paperless Document Manager (PPDM) is a desktop component that converts scanned paper documents into editable electronic files and routes them to any destination via custom workflows created right from a desktop computer. The DocumentMall PPDM Upload Link enables DocumentMall users to upload PPDM-scanned documents to an accessible folder in their DocumentMall account. It takes advantage document types for indexing, and permission sets for folder and document security. The following user guide describes how to download and use the DocumentMall PPDM Upload link. It assumes that PPDM is already installed on a user s PC. Download and Install DocumentMall PPDM Upload Link The DocumentMall PPDM Upload Link is available on the DocumentMall website under Support. (http://documentmall.com/support/user_resources). This is a Windows executable file. Navigate to the DocumentMall PPDM Uplink Link offering, click on the download link, and follow the steps to run and install the upload link. Once the link is successfully installed, access PPDM on your workstation, and notice the DocumentMall Upload Link icon in the Send To bar area. Using the DocumentMall PPDM Upload Link DocumentMall PPDM Upload Link The user initiates the document upload by dragging one of documents displayed in the PPDM window over to the Send To bar icon for DocumentMall. The PaperPort Desktop Manager Screen. Note the DocumentMall link icon This causes a dialog window to pop up to prompt the user for login information. Note: If the user has already entered this information via the Send To Options dialog, then these fields will already be filled in. The DocumentMall Login dialog box appears when a document is dropped on the PPDM DocumentMall upload link icon. After the user has entered her login information, the DocumentMall Upload Link window is instantiated to enable the user to select and enter information for the upload. Copyright 2001-2012. The PPDM Send to Options Window The user may specify default values for use with the DocumentMall link by using the Send To Options dialog. This window is common to all the PPDM Send To bar links, displaying different fields depending on which link is selected. It is initiated by right-clicking a given toolbar link icon then selecting the Send To Option from the menu that appears. In the case of the DocumentMall link, the fields displayed in the Send To Options window specify the account, username and password that s used to login to DocumentMall whenever an upload is attempted. Note: This login information is currently only stored for the duration of the PPDM window s existence, and does not persist in between uses of the PPDM application. The DocumentMall Upload Link Window The File to Upload window allows the user to: Select the folder in DocumentMall where you want to upload the file to. o The available folders will display based on the users permission to access selected folders Select the Document Type o The option default is Document. If Document Types are utilized in a DocumentMall account, a drop down list will display available document types Choose a Permission set, based on who would have access to the file, and possibly the location of the stored file. DocumentMall Folder for Upload The DocumentMall Folder for Upload text field enables the user to enter the path in DocumentMall to the folder to be used for the upload. The default value for this field is the user s home cabinet (i.e. My Cabinet username). The user may enter a new path into this field manually, or alternatively click on the Browse for Folder Selection button to bring up a window displaying a tree structure of all the folders accessible to this user (i.e. All the public folders in this account and the user s home cabinet) The DocumentMall Upload Link Window Copyright 2001-2012. The DocumentMall Upload Link window contains the following labels and fields: File To Upload: This label displays the fully-qualified path to the file to be uploaded. Document Type and Permission Set: These are drop-down list controls that enable the user to select the document type and permission set to be applied to the document to be uploaded. The default permission set selection is Owner Only. The default Document Type selection is Document. Upload File and Cancel Upload: If the default values are used, the user can either click on the Upload File button to upload the document into DocumentMall, or click on the Cancel Upload button. Permission Sets From the drop down list, select the Permission set that you would like to associate with the uploaded file. Document Type The default document type selection is Document. If you select a Custom Document Type, the Add Indexing Values option becomes available. The Indexing Values will display, based on the custom Document Type you selected.
