MC3WAVES Wireless Connection Wizard When viewing available wireless networks on either MCCC campus you will see a network named public. Connection to public is open to all. Upon connecting to the network and attempting to browse any website, you will be temporarily redirected to the screen below. It is recommended that all MCCC students, faculty, and staff select the Enable Security option in the window above. All other users (presumably guests of the College) can continue in an insecure mode. The insecure option will require registration via an e-mail address but will permit browsing of the Internet. Upon selecting the Enable Security option, users will be presented the window below.

Simply check the box to accept the license agreement and press Start. Enter the standard MCCC user ID and password to continue and complete the configuration wizard. The computer should now be connected to the MC3WAVES wireless network. Network drives and printers are not available on the wireless network. If you experience difficulty with the wizard, you can configure the device manually: Manual Wireless configuration - Windows 1. Open 2. new wireless connection in 3.

Click on the Airport tab 4. Click on + under the Preferred Networks Window 5. Network Name: MC3WAVES (all caps) 6. Security: WPA2 Enterprise 7. Click Add 8. Click on 802.1x tab 9. Click on + under User Profiles 10. Name it MC3WAVES 11. Next, if Public is in the list, click it and then click the to remove it. 12. On the right hand-side, enter user name (school username) 13. Enter password 14. In the Wireless Network drop down box, pick MC3WAVES if it s not there, type it in

15. Authentication should be PEAP only. 16. Click Apply 17. Open a browser window and test connection 18. Turn Airport off the back on again if the computer does not automatically connect to MC3WAVES ios (iphone, ipad, etc.) How to Set Up MC3WAVES Wi-Fi on an ipad To connect to the secure MC3 Wi-Fi Network manually: 2. Select Wi-Fi 3. Tap Other 4. In the Name field enter MC3WAVES (all CAPITALS!) 5. In the Security field choose WPA2 Enterprise then touch Other Network in the upper left 6. Enter your MC3 network username and password 7. Tap Join 8. Tap Accept on the Certificate that appears You are now connected to the MC3WAVES secure network. Anytime you are within range of the college s Wi-Fi network the ipad will automatically connect. To connect to the secure MC3 Wi-Fi Network using the Public Wi-Fi: 2. Select Wi-Fi 3. Tap Public 4. On the Connect page, Choose Option 1: Secure Wireless Network (recommended) Tap click here 5. On the Welcome page, the wizard will configure your ipad after accepting the End-User License Agreement 6. Tap the check box I accept the terms of the End-User License Agreement and then tap Start 7. Tap OK 8. After reading the installation page tap Cancel 9. On the Install Profile page tap Install 10. When prompted about Root Certificate tap Install Now 11. Enter your username (same as your MC3 user account) then tap Next 12. Enter your password (same as your MC3 user account) then tap Next 13. On the Profile Installed page tap Done

14. Press the Home button 15. Go to Settings, Wi-Fi and then Choose MC3Waves. To Delete MC3Waves 2. Select General 3. Tap Reset 4. Tap Reset Network Settings 5. Select Reset What to check for if not connecting Make sure your Wi-Fi is turned on: Go to Settings; select Wi-Fi, Then next to the Wi-Fi tap ON if it indicates Off Check ipad version: Go to Settings then General, then About finally under Version it should say at least 3.0 (7A341) Unable to join the network MC3Waves select Dismiss, then close App and go back into Settings; select Wi-Fi and then Choose MC3WAVES If you receive the following error message: Incorrect username or password for MC3Waves select Dismiss and re-enter username and password
