Summer University is an exciting and unique opportunity for students in grades K-8 to wrap up work from their current grade level, get a boost for the next grade level and/or engage in a fun and exciting enrichment class of their choice.
General Information Sessions of Summer University 4 Week Sessions June 13 th - July 7 th, 2016 Monday-Thursday and no school on July 4th Session 1 Session 2 Time: 8:00-9:50 Time: 10:10-12:00 Breakfast and lunch is served daily. Breakfast is served 7:30-8:00 and lunch is served 12:00-12:30. All students are encouraged to register for both sessions (morning 1 & 2). Students may select any 2 classes that they would like. If a student needs district transportation, they must register for both sessions. If a student is being transported to school by parents/guardians, they do have the option to register for just one session. If a student is recommended by their building principal to take a wrap-up class, they may also choose 1 additional class of their choice. PRIMARY (K-2) Grade levels refer to 2015-2016 school year PRIMARY (GRADES K-2) Kindergarten Wrap up Grade K Students entering first grade are given the opportunity to review and enhance literacy and math skills. Stories, songs, games and crafts will be used to reinforce the pre-reading and early math skills that predict success in first grade. Keymaster Grades K 2 Teacher: Stephanie Winter Students are introduced to keyboarding, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Google. Focus will be in helping students become familiar with technology while making learning fun and interesting!

Scene Stealers Grades 6 8 Teacher: Robert Winter Students experience theatre through auditions, voice, actions, reactions, improvisation, performance, and nonverbal communication. Students will leave this course with an added confidence in pursuing an interest in theatre. Diggin in the Dirt Grades 6 8 Teacher: Katelyn Kohley Students will have an opportunity to go outside of the classroom for an introduction to agriculture. This course will look at the relationship of agriculture to human survival and human interactions, the place of agriculture in human history and the roles of consumption and production of food in society. LEGO Robotics - Grades 6 8 Teacher: Robert Winter Students experience creative problem solving skills to become the critical thinkers and creators of the future by making their own creations through playful learning experiences. Mission Possible Grades 6 8 Teacher: TBD Students track a dangerous scientist around the world to prevent his release of a deadly microorganism. On their virtual journey, they perform scientific investigations in biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, and math that relate to the geographic area where they have followed the scientist. This will be an engaging hands on investigation to help develop critical thinking and scientific problem solving skills and make science fun! ( This is a double session course and runs 8:00 12:00)
