Gossary Anti-ock braking system (ABS) The braking forces acting on each whee are distributed by ABS in such a way that none of the whees ocks for a significant ength of time, even during emergency braking. Steering contro of the bus is thus argey maintained. Acceeration skid contro (ASR) ASR prevents the whees from spinning when moving off on a sippery surface. It ony deivers as much power as the driven whees can transmit to the road surface. Spinning of individua whees, on ice at the edge of the road, for exampe, is prevented by precisey metered brake appications. Eectronic eve contro system Passengers and baggage are not aways distributed eveny throughout the vehice. This can cause variations in the ride height at different whees. The eectronic eve contro system automaticay contros the ride height at each whee so that the boarding height is aways the same. Eectronic Braking System (EBS) Deveoped from the conventiona compressed-air brake, the Eectronic Braking System offers many benefits. During braking, the contro unit first cas on the permanent brake (retarder). If greater deceeration is required, the contro unit uses information from the data network to cacuate the optimum brake pressure for each axe. The Eectronic Braking System enabes consideraby shorter stopping distances as we as significanty reduced wear of brake discs and pads. Cathodic dip priming (CDP) Cathodic dip priming (CDP) is an eectrochemica process in which the bodyshe is coated by immersion. It is wesuited to priming compex structures and arge voumes. The water-based primer provides the bus with outstanding corrosion protection because the ayer of paint is appied to every point of the body, covering them a to the same thickness. Cathodic dip priming is demonstraby the best method of corrosion protection currenty avaiabe in the vehice manufacturing sector. 11
