We trust this Brief Guide will enable you to become familiar with your vehicle s basic operations and assist you in enjoying your vehicle. This Brief Guide does not replace or substitute the Owner s Manual, which you will find in the vehicle s glove compartment. It is important that you review the full Owner s Manual as well as any further supplementary manuals as this will allow you to familiarise yourself with the operating and safety instructions and to handle the vehicle within its limitations. Please do read all documents in your pack as this will ensure you get maximum performance from your car and learn about related services offered. 4 Accessing your vehicle 1. Key (with a wireless remote control function). 2. Key (without a wireless remote control function). 3. Key number plate. Your key number is shown on the plate. If you should lose your keys or if you need additional keys, duplicates can be made using the key number. 1. Locks all the doors. 2. Unlocks all the doors. Rear door child-protector lock (5-door models only) The door cannot be opened from inside the vehicle when the lock is set. These locks can be set to prevent children from opening the rear doors. Slide on each rear door switch to lock both rear doors. 2

5 The vehicle can be locked and unlocked using the key or wireless remote control Driver's door Without a power door lock system. 1. Locks the door. 2. Unlocks the door. With power door lock system. 1. Locks all the doors. 2. Unlocks all the doors. The wireless remote control system can lock or unlock all the side doors and back door from a distance within approximately 1m of the vehicle. Door lock operation Locking and unlocking with key. 6 Electric windows The power windows can be opened and closed using the switches. Operating the switch moves the windows as follows: 1. Closing 2. Opening Steering wheel (Vehicles with an adjustable type) Tilt steering wheel To change the steering wheel angle, hold the steering wheel, push down the lock release lever, tilt the steering wheel to the desired angle and return the lever to its original position. The steering wheel must not be adjusted while the vehicle is in motion. 4

7 Seat and seat belt adjustment Adjusting front seats Fold-down rear seat Split rear seat 1. Push the head restraints to the lowest position. Non-split rear seats 1. Seat position adjusting lever Pull the lever up. Then slide the seat to the desired position with slight body pressure and release the lever. 2. Seatback angle adjusting lever Lean forward and pull the lever backward. Then lean back to the desired angle and release the lever. 2. Unlock and fold down the seatback while pulling the straps. Seat belts To fasten your belt, pull it out of the retractor and insert the tab into the buckle. You will hear a click when the tab locks into the buckle. The seat belt length automatically adjusts to your size and the seat position. Make sure that all occupants are wearing their seat belts before driving the vehicle. 5

10 Clock Type A (On some models) Press and hold the CLOCK button until you hear a beep. 1. Adjust the hours. 2. Adjust the minutes. Type B (On some models) Press the MENU button; press the (Config). press the (Time). 1. Adjust the hours. 2. Adjust the minutes /24 H display change button. 8

11 Lights Headlights To turn on the lights: Twist the headlight/t urn signal lever knob. Position 1: Parking, tail, license plate and instrument panel lights. Position 2: Headlights and all the above. High-low beams For high beams, turn the headlights on and push the lever away from you (position 1). Pull the lever toward you (position 2) for low beams. To flash the high beam headlights, pull the lever all the way back (position 3). The high beam headlights turn off when you release the lever. 9

12 Wipers Windscreen wipers and washer To turn on the windscreen wipers, move the lever to the desired setting. The key must be in the «ON» position. 1. Intermittent windscreen wiper operation. 2. Low speed operation 3. High speed operation 4. Temporary operation For a single sweep, push the lever up and release it. To spray washer fluid, pull the lever toward you. Rear window wiper and washer Engine should be in the ON position 1. Normal window wiper operation 2. Washer/wiper dual operation 3. Washer operation 10

13 Gear change Manual transmission The shift pattern is as shown. Multi-mode manual transmission (MMT) Shift position uses Shift position R N E M Function Reversing Neutral and engine starting Easy mode (automatic operation) Manual mode + = Upshifting = Downshifting 11

15 Fuel tank opening Open the fuel filler door To remove the fuel tank cap, insert the key and turn it counterclockwise by 45 degrees (to point 1), and then turn it clockwise by 45 degrees (to point 2). Remove the key. 3. Turn the cap slowly counterclockwise, then pause slightly before removing it. After removing the cap, hang it on the cap hanger. After refueling, turn the fuel tank cap clockwise, without inserting the key. Take care to select the correct fuel 13

16 Bonnet opening To open the bonnet: 1. Pull the bonnet lock re lease lever. The bonnet will spring up slightly. 2. In front of the vehicle, pull up on the auxiliary catch lever and lift the hood. 3. Hold the bonnet open by inserting the support rod into the slot. 14

17 Eco-Driving What is Eco-Driving? Eco-Driving = Driving in a more careful and environmentally responsible way Eco-Driving = Reduced fuel costs Eco-Driving = Reduced Environmental impact á Saving of CO 2 emissions. Eco-Driving Savings Total potential saving of 20-30%. Roof load increases wind drag and therefore consumption. Roof Load (Speed at 120 km/hr) Increased consumption Luggage rack 5 10% Ski box 10 20% Bicycle rack 30% Loaded luggage rack 35 40% Open windows increase fuel consumption by an average of 5%. Air Conditioning can result in 10-25% extra fuel consumption. Low Tyre Pressure result in higher fuel consumption (up to 3% extra from 0.5 bar too low) Tyre pressures can fall by % after one month, and by 20% after 5 months. Shifting up gear earlier can result in 8% saving. How to Eco-Drive? Starting Remove any extra weight and roof load Plan your route to avoid detours Avoid using your car for short journeys Checking/maintenance Check your tyre pressures regularly Service your car according to owner s manual Driving Shift up gear earlier Only use electrical accessories when necessary (e.g. A/C) Follow and anticipate the traffic flow Keep your windows closed (use ventilation system when possible) Switch off your engine if you have to wait longer than seconds 15
