Square 1 Remote Deposit Scanner Installation + Use // Quick Start Guide The Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act (Check 21) allows organizations to convert the paper checks they receive into electronic representations, providing for quicker and more efficient clearing. A Remote Image Deposit item or transaction is a one-time entry initiated by a customer for deposit to their Financial Institution, using a check as a source document. After the setup process explained in this guide, you may begin scanning and converting paper checks to Remote Image Deposit items. Once you have created the items, approved them, and sent them to Square 1 Bank, we download the items in the appropriate format (X9.37), check them for accuracy, and then forward them to the Federal Reserve or other processor for distribution to their respective account destinations.
