General Criteria Must serve communities within Cox Arizona s service area (Greater Phoenix, Casa Grande, Tucson, Sierra Vista) We do not provide funding to individuals, individual youth sports teams or school based organizations (PTAs), foundations that do not provide direct services to the community, religious or political organizations Must provide your W 9 at the time of your request
Considerations Alignment with Cox s areas of focus youth, education and technology Quality of the program and application Scope of the program and overall impact on the community Programs that provide a unique service, not being duplicated in the area. Availability of Cox s resources

Cox Charities Cox s foundation raises and awards funds over and above the company s charitable contributions Operates in partnership with Valley of the Sun United Way and United Way of Tucson/Southern Arizona Funds are raised through employee contributions, fundraising events (golf tournament), fundraising partnerships with other events in the community, and customer contributions Has awarded more than $3.4 million in grants to hundreds of organizations statewide
Cox Charities Applications are accepted and grants are awarded annually Funding is for program specific support not general operations or capital. Must be a youth (K 12) education program involving science and technology, arts and culture, safe and healthy lifestyles, overcoming disabilities, mentoring, literacy, leadership development, social skills development, and other areas benefiting youth Grants range from $2,000 to $15,000
Cox Charities Do not accept applications from individual public, private or charter schools, school sports or activities programs, PTAs, churches, little leagues, pass through orgs., etc. Do not fund strictly healthcare/therapy services, basic needs, entertainment, or socialization/recreation programs. Funding decisions are made by a committee of Cox employees who contribute to Cox Charities, Cox Charities board members, and community fundraising partners.
Cox Charities How to Apply: Email AZ.CoxCharities@cox.com and request to be added to the distribution list Will receive an email when the application opens (usually in the spring) Must apply online through e C Impact (VSUW s online application tool) Can apply for funding from Cox Charities Phoenix, Cox Charities Southern Arizona, or both
Cox Volunteers Encourages employees to volunteer their own time to support any non profit or charitable cause in the community Works with HandsOn Phoenix to organize volunteer team builders with our Cox Charities grant recipient organizations
