Senior Scholarship Opportunities Listed below are scholarships that are currently available to MASH graduating seniors. These scholarships can be picked up in the Guidance Office at the Medford Area Senior High School. This list will be updated as additional scholarships are received. Students are encouraged to look at the books in the Guidance Office for other State and National Scholarships that are also available. If students have questions or need help filling out applications please contact the guidance office. Mutual of Wausau Scholarship - $500 or $1,000 (dollar amount to be determined) A scholarship is to be offered to a graduating senior. Applicant must be a son or daughter of a family member that is currently a policyholder of Mutual of Wausau. The scholarship is be used for continuing education at an accredited institution of higher learning. Application available in the guidance office or online at: www.mutualofwausau.com Deadline: February 28 th Pagel Graphic Arts Scholarship - $500-$1,500 This scholarship is open to individuals who are attending school full-time in Wisconsin and pursuing some form of post-secondary education in the graphic communications industry. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline: February 29 th Kyle R. Long Scholarship Applicant must be a graduating senior from the Medford Area with special education needs or a learning disability; planning to pursue a post-secondary education in any field of study at an institution of higher education, or a senior planning to pursue a career working in special education needs. This scholarship must be filed electronically at www.cfoncw.org Deadline: March 1 st Partners with St. Joseph s Hospital Scholarship - $1,000 Applicant must be a current or former registered volunteen/volunteer at Ministry St. Joseph s Hospital in Marshfield. Applicants must be enrolled or enrolling in a program in a health-related field. Must attend an accredited college or university. The education required to attain this goal must take 2 years or longer. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline: March 1 st

Through the Looking Glass Scholarship - $1,000 This scholarship is sponsored through the National Center for Parents with Disabilities & Their Families. To be eligible a student must be a graduating senior, and have at least one parent with a disability. The student must be planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college or technical college pursuing a certificate license, AA, AS, BA or BS degree in the fall of 2016. Applications can be found online: www.lookingglass.org/scholarships Deadline: March 1 st UW-Marathon - Various Applicant must be a high school senior and have applied for admission to UWMC. The scholarship application may be found online at: www.uwmc.uwc.edu Deadline: March 1 st Mid Wisconsin Foundation Scholarship Applicant must be a graduating high school senior, who is planning on attending an accredited college or university, or vocational/technical school. Applicant must have had a parent employed by Mid Wisconsin Bank or have been an employee of Mid Wisconsin Bank prior to its merger in 2013. Must apply online at: www.cfoncw.org Deadline: March 1 st Mid-State Technical College Scholarships - Various Must be a high school senior accepted into a full-time associate degree or technical diploma program at Mid-State Technical College. More information can be obtained in the guidance office. Applications may be found online at: www.mstc.edu/scholarships Deadline: March 4 th Clark Electric Cooperative - $750 The applicant s parent or legal guardian must be a member of the Clark Electric Cooperative and receiving electrical service at their residence. The applicant must have a 2.5 GPA. Application is available in the guidance office, or on their website: www.cecoop.com Deadline: March 7 th

Manufacturing Works Scholarship - $500 Applicant must be a graduating senior. Must be attending WITC, CVTC or UW-Stout in a manufacturing program as a full-time student for the 2016-17 school year. Preference will be given to Advanced Manufacturing skills Gap Careers (i.e. Welding, Machine Tool, Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or Electromechanical/Industrial Maintenance) Application may be obtained in the guidance office. Deadline: March 11 th Joseph & Betty Prohaska Scholarship - 2 @ $10,000 Any graduating senior who attends an accredited college, university, technical or vocational school is eligible to apply. Two scholarships will be awarded to the most deserving male and female applicants. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline: March 15 th United FCS - $500 The applicant or his/her parents MUST be an FCS customer. Applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Selection is based on academic aptitude, vocational promise, personal attributes and leadership qualities. Preference is given to Agriculture related fields. Applications are available in the guidance office or online at: www.unitedfcs.com (Choose Dealer Portal, Tools, Scholarship App). Deadline: March 15 th Wisconsin Right to Life - Taylor County Chpt. - 1 @$250 Applicant must be a graduating senior and resident of Taylor County. They must be accepted at an accredited university or technical college. Applicant can be, but not required to be a member of a Teens for Life Club. Applications may be found in the guidance office or downloaded from the Chapter s website: www.tctl.org Deadline: March 15 th Aspirus Healthcare Career Scholarship - $500 The applicant must be a senior graduating from a WI high School with a GPA of 2.75 or above in pursuit of an education in a medical-related career. Must be accepted at an accredited university or technical institute. Applicant should have a scholarship agreement signed and dated by a parent or guardian. Applications may be found in the guidance office or online at: www.aspirus.org/medfordvolunteers Deadline: March 18 th

UW-Marathon Scholarship Competition - 10-$200, 1-$500, 1-$1,000 Applicant a graduating high school senior. Must provide one original JPEG photo (must not be a selfie) of yourself that communicates what you ll bring to UWMC as a student. Must show your talent, skills, or qualities of personality that will help you succeed and contribute to the campus community. Apply online: https://uwmc.uwc.edu/what-ill-bring Deadline: March 18 th WEAC Region 2 Scholarship - $500 Applicant must be a senior graduating from a WI high school who plans on entering the field of education. Their parent or legal guardian must be a current WEAC member, retired member or deceased member who died while holding a WEAC membership are eligible to apply. Applicant must rank in the top 25% of his/her class, and achieved a 3.0 GPA or higher. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline: March 18 th The Wisconsin Electronic Security Assoc. (WIESA) Scholarship - $1,500 Must be a graduating senior whose parent or guardian is a full-time member of the police or sheriff s dept. or a member or volunteer member of a fire dept., paramedic or EMT. Applicant must be accepted for admission to an accredited college or university for the following year. Application may be found in the guidance office or online at www.wiesa.org. Deadline: March 18 th American Legion Auxiliary Boxrucker-Berry Unit 519-2 @$250 This scholarship is only available to high school seniors who are members, or a daughter, son or grandchild of an auxiliary member. Application is available in the guidance office. Deadline: March 31 st ProVision Partners Scholarship - Various Applicant must be a graduating senior residing in Central WI pursuing a two or four year degree in a agriculture-related field. Participants are scored on their scholastic achievement, leadership in agriculture, and written essay. Applications are available in the guidance office or online at: http://provisionpartners.coop/. Taylor Credit Union Scholarship - 2 @$250 Applicant must be a graduating high school senior who will be attending a post-secondary school. Student or parent/guardian must be a member of the Taylor Credit Union. The application may be found in the guidance office or downloaded from Guidance Deadline: March 31 st UW-Madison Alumni Assoc./Marshfield Chpt. - Various This scholarship is for students who plan to attend UW-Madison. Must list financial need, academic achievements, school and community activities. A copy of application form is available in the guidance office or online at: www.uwalumni.com. Deadline: March 31 st Chelsea Conservation Club - 1 @$500 This scholarship is open to any graduating senior. It is intended for a career in the conservation field or similar field. Applications are available in the guidance office or on Guidance web page. Forward Financial Scholarship - 1 @$500 Robert N. Lotzer Scholarship - 1 @$500 The applicant must be a Wisconsin resident and a graduating student from the high school. They must be scheduled to be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university in Wisconsin during the next succeeding term. They must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Application may be found online at: scholarships@forwardbank.com General Scholarship All graduating seniors of Medford Area Senior High who plan to attend a college, university, vocational or trade school in the fall of 2016 should complete this application. This one application is used by many local organizations to select scholarship recipients. The (blue) application is available in the guidance office. Medford High School Alumni Hockey Scholarship Applicant must be a graduating senior who participated in hockey and completed his/her senior year on the Medford Raider Hockey Team in good standing. Student must be pursuing a degree at a college or technical school. Application is available in the guidance office.

Medford Co-operative Scholarship - $400 This scholarship is available to any graduating senior from MASH. The applicant or his/her parents must be a member of the co-operative. Application is available in the guidance office. Thomas H. Lutsey-Waseda Farms Scholarship - up to $2,000 Applicant must be a graduating senior with a rural or agricultural background. Plan to attend a technical college or university. Student must submit a copy of their SAR. Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Satisfactory ACT or SAT test scores. Plan on a career in the agricultural field. Application available in the guidance office or may be found online at: www.lutsey.org Dr. Gordon Backer Memorial Scholarship - $1,000 Applicant should be a graduating senior with a 3.3 GPA from Marathon, Portage, Oneida, Langlade, Lincoln, Taylor, or Wood Counties. The applicant should be intending to pursue a medical-related field at a 2 or 4 year college or university full-time. Special preference will be given to ECW/ECLSI employees and dependents of employees. Application is available in the guidance office and must be returned to the guidance office by deadline. Marathon County Farm Bureau Scholarship - $500 Applicant must be accepted in a 4 year university or 2 year technical school. He/she must be a Marathon County resident or member of Marathon County Farm Bureau. Preference will be given to a student pursuing an agriculture degree. Application may be obtained in the guidance office. Medford Choir Booster Club Scholarship - $500 Applicant must be a graduating senior choir student that will be pursuing advance study in Music or the Arts. Application is available in the guidance office. Medford Area Community Theatre -up to $1,000 This scholarship is available to any graduating senior who has been accepted and will be attending a post-secondary school full time. The applicant must have participated in at least one Medford Area Community Theatre production. Participation includes both on-stage and off-stage activities. Application is available in the guidance office.

** Medford Area Senior High Alumni Scholarship - 2 @$750 Applicant must be a graduating senior of Medford Area Senior High with a 2.75 GPA or higher. Applicant must be planning on attending an accredited college, university, technical or vocational school. Applications may be found in the guidance office. Deadline: April 4 th Medford Morning Rotary Club Scholarship - $250 Applicant should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, have 2 years of participation in a school-related or community-based volunteer organizations and be a positive role model to other students. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline: April 4 th Vita Plus - Ag Scholarship - $500 Applicant must be a graduating senior who plans on a career in agriculture and related fields, who is a resident of Wood, Clark, Jackson, Marathon, Trempealeau, Buffalo, Eau Claire, Dunn, Pepin, or Taylor counties or be closely involved with a dairy farm that is a customer of Vita Plus-Loyal. In the fall of the next academic year plan to enroll in an accredited vocational/technical college, community, or 4-year college that offers a major in a field related to Agriculture. Application is available in the guidance office. Deadline: April 4 th Taylor Electric Cooperative - 2 @$500 Any senior who plans to further their education and lives in a household receiving electric service from the Taylor Electric Cooperative is eligible. Applications may be found in the guidance office or online at: www.taylorelectric.org Deadline: April 6 th Nestle Pizza Division Scholarship - 3 @$1,000 Applicants must have plans to attend a vocational/technical school or a four-year college/university. They must also have a GPA of at least 3.0 and be in the top 25% of their class. The application may be found in the guidance office. Reminder: GPA form must be filled out by the guidance office before submission to Nestle. Deadline: April 8 th 3-Sport Award Scholarship - 2 @ $100 Any graduating senior (one boy and one girl) who have participated in 3 sports during their senior year is eligible for this scholarship. Must have ended the seasons in good standing. Application is available in the guidance office.

Darleen & Ken Hallgren Memorial Scholarship - 3 @ $1,000 To be eligible for this scholarship an applicant must be a Medford High Senior involved in extra-curricular and community activities. Applicant must plan on attending a four year university or college. Application is available in the guidance office. Eric Emmans Memorial Boy Scout Scholarship - $2,500 This scholarship is offered by the Boy Scouts of America, Chippewa Valley Council. Applicant must be a graduating senior entering a post-secondary school. Must have been a registrant in the Boy Scouts of America for a minimum of 3 years during high school and currently reside in the Chippewa Valley Council area. Applicant must have demonstrated leadership ability in scouting and participation in activities outside of scouting. Application is available in the guidance office. Greg Scott Memorial Natural Resources Scholarship - $250 Applicant should be a graduating senior from Taylor County, WI with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and must be planning to pursue a degree in natural resources, conservation, wildlife or environmental protection. Application is available in the guidance office. Medford Youth Soccer Scholarship - 2 @$500 The Medford Youth Soccer Association is offering two $500 Soccer scholarships (one to a graduating senior girl and one to a graduating senior boy). Applicants must have participated in the Medford Youth Soccer Summer Rec. Program for a minimum of 2 years and/or played high school soccer. Applications are available in the guidance office or online at: Guidance North Central Outdoors Scholarship - 2 @$250 Formerly the Taylor County Chpt. of the Natl. Wild Turkey Federation scholarship. Applicant must be a graduating senior with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and must support the preservation of the hunting tradition and actively participate in hunting sports. Application is available in the guidance office.

Northwoods Community Credit Union - 2 @ $1,000 This scholarship is available to students from schools within a 14 county membership area. The student must be a member of Northwoods Community Credit Union (to be a member you need only open a share savings account of $5.00) membership eligibility is required. Applications are available in the guidance office or online at www.northwoodscu.com under About Us tab. Robert Retzer Memorial Scholarship - $500 Applicant should be a graduating senior with a 3.0 GPA or higher and must be pursuing either a 2 or 4 year degree from a technical college or university in the field of mathematics or science. Application is available in the guidance office. Taylor County D.H.I. (AgSource) Scholarship - Various Applicant must be pursuing a degree in an Agriculture related field. Must be a resident of Taylor County and be a D.H.I. member or former D.H.I. member or employee. Application is available in the guidance office. ** Pledger Starbound Science Scholarship-First Yr. Tuition to a WI Univ./Col. This scholarship is being offered to encourage and assist a graduating senior who plans to major in one of the following areas: Basic Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or related subject. Applications may be found in the guidance office. Carrie Crystal Stuckert Memorial Art Scholarship - 2 @$2,000 & 2 @$1,000 Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and must be enrolled as a Art major at an accredited institution of higher learning in the U.S. Applications may be found in the guidance office or online at www.dreampoolfoundation.org. This scholarship program requires an essay addressing, What strategies should legislators consider to address the dilemma of increasing town/village fire and emergency medical costs?
