Seniors are encouraged to check with their Guidance Counselor at least 6 weeks before the deadline date to get information on obtaining the applications. Keep in mind also that this information may change from year to year and organizations may stop offering them at any time. 6 NEW YORK STATE LOTTERY LEADERS OF TOMORROW SCHOLARSHIP Deadline: March Qualify: Student must have an 85% average or higher and must be going to a college in NYS. Essay with completed application. Apply: Applications will be in Guidance Office when they arrive NEW YORK STATE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE Eligibility Requirements: 1. Must be a graduate of New York State High School 2. Must be a legal resident of New York State for at least one year prior to Sept The school shall select their winners by computing a weighted average of the scores on the Regents examinations taken by its students prior to their senior year, in all of the following subjects: The weighing of the scores shall be: Comprehensive English weight of three Mathematics B weight of three Global Studies weight of one US History weight of one Science (at least two courses) weight of one for each course 4. NOTE: In order to use the scholarship the winner must be in attendance as a full-time, matriculated student in an approved New York State postsecondary institution by the fall semester after graduation. 5. NEW YORK WATER ENVIRONMENT ASSOCIATION, INC. SCHOLARSHIP Deadline: January/$1,500 Qualify: Students enrolling in an environmentally related program in a 4 year college or university. Also students who have parents that are members of NYWEA are eligible. ONEIDA COUNTY VOL. FIREMAN S ASSOC. UTICA BOILERMAKER SCHOLARSHIP Deadline: April 1st/$1,000 Qualify: Participates in interscholastic running team (cross country, indoor track or outdoor track) in distance running (800 M and longer), passion and dedication to running, plans to continue running as a student/athlete in college, recognized as a positive role model for teammates.
