Job Title: Company: Department: Location: Responsible to: Business Analyst Whistl UK Ltd Shared Services- IT Marlow HQ Head of Change & Programme Management Main Purpose of Job: The Business Analyst Manager will be responsible for scoping, defining, prioritising and documenting business objectives, processes and requirements They will need to take a hands on approach, and work closely with the business to understand business problems and objectives, define requirements, identify and propose suitable solutions. They will then be responsible for supporting delivery of these solutions through to testing and go live, making sure they are adopted by the users and achieve the intended business benefits. They will need have a wide range of skills including strong business analytical, problem solving, communication, planning and organisation skills with a positive and determined attitude, and the ability to work both on their own and as part of a cross functional team. Main Responsibilities: Business Analysis To understand the company's processes, systems/applications, infrastructure, and strategic plans To acquire a proper understanding of a business problem or situation by breaking it down systematically into its component parts and identifying the relationships between these parts, and selecting the appropriate method/tool to resolve the problem

To plan, arrange, and facilitate workshops to capture as is business processes, define to be processes, and to detail both functional, technical and data requirements To identify, document and obtain sign off for prioritised business requirements To create wireframes, solutions designs or other documentation as required To provide input to the systems and solution design and development, and to liaise with the business on any requirements clarification as necessary To ensure requirements are technically feasible and compatible with both business and IT department strategic plans To support the business in the preparation of UAT plans and in conducting the UAT process if required To provide input to project management in respect of task timescales, change management, and risk and issue management To communicate requirements and work effectively with in house and 3rd party developers on an on-going basis To represent systems function across a wide range of forums - internal meetings, workshops and presentations; externally with 3rd party providers Change Management To manage the change programme for 1 or more applications as required To create request for change documentation, ensuring that requirements, priority, impact, costs, and business benefits, and are clear and understood To ensure that the change management process is followed and all stakeholders adhere to the process To log all requests in JIRA and to manage the release programme and product backlog, ensuring information in JIRA is kept updated To arrange weekly/fortnightly/monthly steering group meetings to discuss/review the release programme To manage and plan the release programme, ensuring that all requests have estimates and are prioritised into sprints or releases; that dates for each release are agreed with the development team and the business

To ensure that progress for each release is on track, and that release dates will be met, updating the business and ensuring that any deviations/issues are communicated To ensure that impact assessment has been carried out and that proper testing has taken place To communicate releases to the appropriate users and stakeholders To ensure that any releases into live environment are free from bugs/defects, meet the business requirements, and do not impact on other systems/areas unless agreed Strategy Assist with development of business / operating plans for new opportunities. Identifying opportunities for improvement and making constructive suggestions for change Assist with developing key business processes, policies and procedures for new initiatives to ensure that they are consistent with the Company s overall direction Advising other business areas on IT plans and strategy to ensure consistent and coherent communications Communication Build effective relationships and collaborate with business managers at Head Office and operational locations and communicate effectively to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions Communicate and liaise both internally and externally up to Board level contacts using appropriate methods Responsible for presenting and communicating IT business plans, project plans and objectives in a coherent manner to both direct and project team members and in general throughout wider business Attend and present as required at external customer meetings if/as required, to aid development of the business and for the benefit of Whistl Post. Work with business managers to develop requirements, project plans, postimplementation transition plans and provide on-going support and advice after implementation Other

Ability to capture information using a wide range of information capturing techniques including contextual enquiries, focus groups,structured interviews, questionnaires, observation, statistical analysis, automated monitoring tools and application logs. Proficient in business analysis techniques which help in modelling and understanding a business operation, including but not limited to functional business models, statistical process control, relational data modelling, user case writing, wireframing Proficient in information modelling tools which help in understanding the structure and relationships within an organisation Ability to work at a detailed level whilst also keeping overall objectives and strategies in mind and not to get deflected by matters of detail Good level of analytical and numerical ability. Able to analyse data, make inferences, draw conclusions and make recommendations to the Senior Management. Experience at workshop facilitation techniques would be beneficial Project Management Direct experience of designing, managing and implementing projects / systems and business change management processes Determining a course of action by breaking it down into smaller steps and by planning and resourcing each of these, making allowance for potential problems. Able to produce project documentation to a high standard, including business cases, project initiation documents, schedules, progress reports, risk and issue logs and other documents as required A sound understanding of project management methodologies such as Prince2 and Agile and practical experience of the tools and techniques used in project management Commercial. Good level of commercial awareness, able to understand the commercial elements of projects and products and how these impact on the profitability of the business Ability to keep commercial aspects continually in mind when taking actions or making decisions Good knowledge of the postal market, market sector requirements, competitors and the range of product and services offered to customers would be beneficial but not essential

Information Technology A sound understanding of business analysis techniques and processes High level of IT literacy Intermediate to Advanced in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point). Ability to learn different IT packages as required Intermediate user of MS Project and MS Visio A sound understanding of software development techniques and processes including both waterfall and agile methods would be beneficial Basic understanding of. Net, Java, FTP, SQL,and XML, would be beneficial but not essential Good working knowledge of JIRA and Greenhopper would be beneficial but not essential Experience (type and level ): A minimum of 2 years in a business analysis role Desirable: good knowledge of the postal industry and its regulatory environment Qualifications (General qualifications & Professional ): E = Essential, D = Desirable Essential Good standard of GCSE & A level education Educated to degree level standard Desirable BCA/ISEB diploma in business analysis
