MANAGING TIME AND PRIORITIES 14 OCTOBER Personal time management skills are essential for effectiveness at work. On this course delegates will identify their personal time-stealers. Once identified they can then determine the actions they need to take to gain control of the time they have available, in order to maximise their personal productivity. By the end of the course delegates will understand the importance of planning and prioritisation of their work. ASSERTIVE COMMUNICATION 11 NOVEMBER This course will show how good communication is crucial to the effectiveness of all organisations. The course aims to improve the individual s interpersonal communication skills through awareness of personal styles, discussion and practice of alternative approaches when communicating with others. Delegates will learn how assertive behaviour differs from aggressive and passive behaviours and use a variety of assertiveness skills and techniques to express their needs positively. PERFORMING UNDER PRESSURE 18 NOVEMBER This interactive course has been designed to help delegates identify the causes of stress, together with the signs and symptoms in both themselves and others. It provides practical steps and strategies for preventing and dealing with stress in the workplace. EFFECTIVE BUSINESS WRITING 2 DECEMBER This course will provide participants with the skills required to produce clear, consistent and effective written communication. DEALING EFFECTIVELY WITH CHANGE 9 DECEMBER We all respond differently to change and not always positively. However, change is now inevitable. This course explains why change is necessary; why we respond as we do and how we can choose to respond appropriately and in a positive way. We will explore how to develop a positive attitude and behaviours towards change. NETWORKING 27 JANUARY Networking is a powerful tool for personal and business development. Delegates will learn about using their individual style to communicate with people; how to put themselves and others at ease, and joining and leaving groups. IMPROVE PRODUCTIVITY THROUGH FOCUS 10 FEBRUARY Does your mind continually flit from one thought to another? Do you struggle to focus on one thing for more than a few minutes? Are you surrounded by half-finished jobs? Digital dementia is a term that refers to the deterioration in cognitive ability due to constant interruptions that have become normal in the digital generation. Being relentlessly bombarded by emails, instant messages, phone calls, and other interruptions has brought about poor memory, concentration and productivity. This session looks at ways to take back control and discipline the brain for better concentration and focus. BEING A SUCCESSFUL TEAM PLAYER 17 FEBRUARY This interactive course looks at developing the key skills necessary to become a high-performing member of a highly effective team. IMPROVE PERFORMANCE WITH EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE 10 MARCH Great emphasis is placed on qualifications, but this alone is no guarantee of success. The use of interpersonal skills and being in control of our emotions is far more important in the modern workplace. This course defines Emotional Intelligence and looks at how understanding someone else s viewpoint can help us to achieve positive results in our workplace. DEVELOPING RESILIENCE 31 MARCH Personal resilience is arguably the most important resource for coping well during challenging times. This session will explore the options available to help staff bounce back after a setback and develop their resilience to future challenges. NEGOTIATION SKILLS 20 JANUARY The aim of this course is to focus on the key aspects and rules of successful negotiation, including arguments and counter arguments, fall-back positions, creative solutions and alternatives to agreement.
