Please note that the Accommodation Arrangement Fee is nonrefundable. If you are declined a student visa before the start of your course, you will be required to send us a copy of the visa rejection letter. You will then receive a refund of your deposit minus an administration fee of 250. Please note that refunds are not granted if there is any evidence that a visa application was not genuine or truthful or if a visa is withdrawn by UK Visas and Immigration. You will receive a full induction including: An English language assessment A tour of the campus and local area Guidance Please let us know if you are unable to attend. Term dates and course start date These can be found on the enclosed price list. Confirmation of enrolment and term dates will be made in your Offer Letter. Fees Please see the enclosed price list for accommodation, airport collection and tuition fees. Your 1,000 deposit will go towards your first term tuition fee. Tuition fees should be paid in full on or before enrolment. English language students are permitted to pay by termly instalments. Please note that you may be required to buy course materials such as books. All courses, options and activities are offered subject to sufficient student numbers on enrolment. Student visas If you are a Visa National, you will need to apply for appropriate entry clearance before you leave your home country. To apply for a Tier 4 Student Visa you will need* A CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) Sufficient funds to cover your course fees for the first period of study Sufficient funds to pass a maintenance test, showing that you have the required amount for living costs for up to nine months of study Original certificates to show that you have met the entry requirements for your chosen course A Secure English Language Test (SELT) certificate, if appropriate A good track record in studying We will not charge you for your first CAS, however any additional CASs will be charged at 14 each and should be paid at the same time as your deposit. Before we issue your CAS, we will first check that you have met the entry requirements for your chosen course. 4 Preparing for study at Sussex Downs College Healthcare If your course lasts for six months or more, you will qualify for National Health Service (NHS) treatment and services from the first day of your course. If your course lasts for less than six months, you will only qualify if your course is substantially funded by the UK government. Substantially means at least 35% government funded. You will need to provide evidence of the funding in order to qualify for free treatment. Include information on your ability to speak and understand spoken English. Attach photocopies of any qualifications you have obtained (for example certificates and examination results) translated into English where possible. If you have not yet taken your exams please include a copy of your latest school report. 7 How to make a payment You can choose to pay your deposit, tuition fees and accommodation by one of the following methods: (please tick your choice) Free online overseas bank transfers Sussex Downs College has arranged an effective method of international payment through the Pay to Study Service. This service is free to use and does not incur bank charges. You will also benefit from significantly beneficial exchange rates. Pay to Study allows you to make payments using your home currency at your local bank, so there is no need to buy sterling from your bank prior to transferring. This option is only available if you have already received an invoice from Sussex Downs College. You can track your payments online, 24 hours a day, so you will not need to contact the College for confirmation. All visa authorities now accept Pay to Study receipts as a means of evidencing payment of tuition fees. If you require a student visa, you will need to add the confirmation of payment receipt to your visa application.
