Applicants holding a non-turkish bachelor s degree (e.g. German) no matter which citizenship they have are considered foreign students/applicants.

1. Bachelor s Degree Studying in the Master Programmes of TAU requires the successful completion of a bachelor programme until Dec 31, 2015.If the bachelordegree certificate cannot be provided at the time of application, an official up-to-date Transcript of Records (ToR) of the bachelor s degree awarding institution may be sufficient for the application. In any case the bachelor s degree certificate must be handed in no later than Dec 31, 2015. Registered students who cannot provide a bachelor degree certificate by the set deadline will be exmatriculated. 2. Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) Turkish applicants are required to have scored a specific pass mark in the Turkish Entrance Examination (ALES). See Table Quotas in section G for further information. Foreign applicants do not have to provide an ALES score. 3. Foreign Language Requirements Applicants have to provide language scores or language proficiency certificates.language proficiency can be attested in the form of the following language tests: YDS, ÜDS, KPDS, TOEFL IBT, IELTS Academic, CAE, CPE, PEARSON PTE Academic or in form of another equally attested exam. The MA European and International Affairs requires an YDS, ÜDS, KPDSscore ofat least 70 or TOEFL IBT of at least 84 and IELTS Acedemic of at least 5. Grade Point Average (GPA) The application does not require a specific Grade Point Average (GPA). 5. Qualification for the Master s Degree: Subject Specific Requirements Administrative Sciences, Political Sciences, Public Administration, Business Management, Economics, History of Economics, International Relations, European Studies, Sociology, Philosophy, Pscyhlogy, Law, History, Cultural Studies, Ethnology, Antropology, Social Sciences or other related fields. D APPLICATION DOCUMENTS Applicants fulfilling all requirements are expected to send all necessary documents via E-mail or letter post to the Institute for Social Sciences (see A for address and

deadlines). A personal delivery is possible as well.the Institute does not take responsibility for postal delays of any kind. For Foreign Applicants: Recognition of the foreign degree (Denklik Belgesi) or recognition of the foreign university (Okul Tanıma Belgesi) issued by the Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK). If the University is not listed by YÖK, the document may be submitted at a later stage, but no later than Dec 31, 2015. Accepted students who cannot provide either of the documents by the set deadline will be exmatriculated. The documents can be issued by the YÖK srecognition department Denklik Okul Tanıma Ofisi. Following information are required: 1. Name and address of the institution of higher education/university 2. Name of the field of study 3. Transcript of Records (ToR) For foreign applicants: The copy of the ToR can be either in English or German language. 4. Result of ALES examination (copy; for Turkish applicants only) 5. Language Proficiency: Results of Exams (ÜDS, KPDS, YDS, IELTS Academic, TOEFL IBT or equivalent (copy) 6. Copy of Identity Card For foreign applicants: Copy of the passport 7. 2 up-to-date photographs

E EVOLUTİON OF INTERVİEWS In order to be invited to the Interwievs the applicants has to submit the Transcript of Records and Language Proficiency Exam Results. The Interwievs are evaluated according to the following weighting. To qualify for the registration to the Programm, applicants are required to obtain at least 70 %. a. Turkish applicants ALES: 50 % Grade Point Average (Bachelor): 20 % Interview: 30 % b. Foreign applicants Grade Point Average (Bachelor): 50 % Interview: 50 % F REGISTRATION For the registration following documents will be needed: 1. All documents that were handed in for the application in original versions or as notarial certified copies 2. Proofof identity 3. 6 Photographs (4,5 x 6,0 cm); not older than 6 months In addition, foreign applicants will have to provide: 1. A student visa issued by a Turkish Embassy or Consulate Students who do not need a student visa according to the guidelines of the Turkish Directorate General (DG) of Security (such as holders of a Turkish Blue Card ) are supposed to declare their student status to the DG. 2. Residence permit; may be provided to the Institute of Social Sciences one month after registration. 3. Attestation of fee transfer. The fee is twice the amount decided on by the Turkish Council of Ministers.( 774 Turkish Lira at the moment). The actual amount can be checked on the Turkish law gazette:www.resmigazete.gov.tr. 4. A declaration that the Student have the financial means to live in Turkey. (Signed by the student). 5. Health Insurance Certificate
