1 Academic Year Fall Semester Conditions and Quota for Application for Graduate School of Natural Sciences PhD Programs Date and Place of Application Application Period Application documents have to be submitted to the below address between June 2014 Application Fee (For the applicants applying from the Qouta of Turkish Citizens) 50 T.L. (You have to pay the fee by indicating your name &surname and ID Number) (For the applicants applying from foreign students quota 150T.L. The applicants by post are invalid. The applicants can ask their documents back until December 31, 2014 with a letter of request. The Documents Required for the Application 1- Print of ALES Examination Result (the exams given in the year 2011 and later are valid) If you do not have ALES Examination Result, original or approved copy of the result of the exams such as GRE, GMAT given in the year 2011 and later are also acceptable.) 2- Print of Foreign Language Testing Result (KPDS or UDS/YDS) The original exam result or the approved copy of the result of any exam such as TOEFL, IELTS are also acceptable. ( The exam results of IELTS Exam given before February, 14 are acceptable.) 3- Copy of Master Diploma or Temporary Graduation Certificate

2 The applicants applying for PhD programs have to submit their Copy of Bachelor Diploma or Temporary Graduation Certificate if indicated in the Graduate School of Natural Sciences PhD Programs Application Table along with their Copy of Master Diploma or Temporary Graduation Certificate The applicants having a diploma or Temporary Graduation Certificate in any language except for Turkish have to submit their translation into Turkish of these documents approved by the Notary in Turkey. The applicants of Turkish Nationality graduated from any undergraduate/graduate program of the universities abroad have to submit the original and the approved copy of Certificate of Equality obtained from Council of Higher Education along with their diploma. The applicants of Foreign Nationality graduated from any undergraduate/graduate program of the universities abroad have to submit the original and the approved copy of Certificate of Recognition obtained from Council of Higher Education along with their diploma. 4- Copy of Transcript of Records including Grade Point Average and indicating if the program is with thesis or not The applicants graduated from any university abroad and having transcript of records in any language except for Turkish have to their translation into Turkish of these documents approved by the Notary in Turkey. During the evaluation process of the applicants to be called to the interview and the acceptance of the applicants, the Grade Point Avarage Score will be taken into consideration out of a hundred. In the graduated university part of the online application form, the applicants have to write their GPA of Master Degree. For the transformation of GPA to hundred systems, the table of Higher Education Council will be taken into consideration. 5- Passport Copy (For Foreign Applicants) 6- Bank Receipt (The Application Fee will not be paid back on any condition.) 7- Certificate of Turkish Proficiency (For applicants of foreign nationality applying for the programs whose language of instruction is in Turkish.)Even if they are accepted, those who do not have this certificate have to take obligatory Turkish Courses offered by DİLMER and have to pay the course fee if they fail in the exam offered by DİLMER.) 8- Online Application Document 9- Decleration of Application Document 10- Please write the information related to the university you have master degree. 11- The applicants have to submit their copy of bachelor s degree along with the copy of master degree if indicated in the table of The Departments. The applicants do their application only one program and one graduate school.

3 Evaluation of the Applicants to be Called to the Written/Oral Exam THE EVALUATION OF APPLICATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE STUDENTS For PhD Programs 50% ALES or GRE, GMAT Examination Result 35% GPA of Master Level 15% Foreign Language Education The applicants are listed according to the average of their score listed below. Ten times of the indicated quota of the students are called to the written/oral exam. Acceptance of Students For acceptance of the students for PhD Programs 50% ALES or GRE, GMAT Examination Result 20% GPA of Master Level 30% of the Written/Oral Exam The applicants whose average is at least 70 are listed according to their score. The jury determines the minimum score to be accepted and informs the graduate school about the accepted applicants and the substitute applicants. The number of substitute applicants has to be equal to the number of substitute applicants. The jury does not have to accept the number of applicants indicated in the list. It is acceptable for the jury to accept more students indicated in the table. The jury evaluates these applicants by taking the applicants who have these documents into consideration. EXPLANATIONS 1- The applicants have to have the qualification required by the department. 2- The applicants have to have a degree from the department to be applied. 3- The applicants who will apply for Master Programs with thesis or without thesis have to write their information regarding their undergraduate education to the part Graduated University in the application form. 4- The applicants who would like to apply PhD Programs have to write their information regarding their graduate education to the part Graduated University in the application form.

8 5- The applicants can apply only to 1 program and 1 Graduate School. The applicants can only apply two programs in master programs without thesis. Those who apply for the master programs without thesis have to pay the application fee for each program. Those who are accepted to each program have to choose one program for registration. 6- Those who apply to the programs without any degree in the field have to take the undergraduate courses determined by the department council. (Scientific Preparation) 7- The applicants of foreign nationality have to have an exam result from one of the exams such as ALES, GRE, GMAT. 8- The applicants of dual nationality one of which is Turkish Citizenship cannot apply from foreign students quota. 9- The jury does not have to accept the indicated number of the students. 10- If agreed, the jury can accept more student than the indicated number of students. 11- The applicants of foreign nationality who will apply for the programs whose language of instruction is in Turkish have to submit a certificate that shows their proficiency in Turkish. 12- For master programs without thesis, the education fee is paid by three instalments in three semesters. The applicants of foreign nationality who are given the right for registration double amount of the fee indicated in the table in three instalments. 13- For the applicants of foreign nationality who gain the right for registration who apply for master programs with thesis or PhD Programs, the education fee is 768 T.L. 14- The ALES Exam Score of the applicants having master degree and required exam score of ALES Examination the program requires who gave a break of two semesters are accepted regardless of the date of ALES Exam Date.
