CONFIGURE THE BUCCANEER WIRELESS NETWORK USING WINDOWS HELP If you receive any of the following messages, follow the steps to resolve the issue. Message: Windows was unable to find a certificate to log you on to the network buccaneer. Right-click on the Windows wireless client icon in the system tray (lower right). Select View Available Wireless Networks In the left pane, click Change the order of preferred networks. The Wireless Network Connection Properties dialog box will open. In the Preferred networks list, click once on buccaneer. Click Properties Click the Authentication tab. The middle tab. Choose Protected EAP (PEAP) from the EAP type dropdown box. Click OK.
Message: Click here to process your logon information for the network buccaneer. Click the yellow message balloon. The Validate Server Certificate dialog box will open. Click OK. If you again receive the yellow message box as above, follow the steps on page 1 to open the Wireless Network Connection Properties dialog box. From the Network Connection Properties dialog box, Click the Authentication tab Click the Properties button Scroll in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities and click the box beside Go Daddy Class 2 Certification Authority Click OK.

Change the EAP type to Protected EAP (PEAP) If you DO NOT log into the laptop with your PirateID and passphrase, uncheck the box beside Authenticate as computer when computer information is available. If you DO log into the laptop with your PirateID and passphrase, leave the check beside Authenticate as computer when computer information is available. Click Properties. Scroll through the Trusted Root Certification Authorities box and select Go Daddy Class 2 Certification Authority Click the Configure button
If you DO NOT log into the laptop with your PirateID and passphrase uncheck the Automatically use my Windows logon name and password box. If you DO log in to the laptop with your PirateID and passphrase, leave the box checked beside Automatically use my Windows logon name and password. I receive a message At least one of your changes was not applied successfully to the wireless configuration. You may see the message At least one of your changes was not applied successfully to the wireless configuration. when you attempt to connect to other wireless networks. You will still be able to connect to other wireless networks even though this message was received. How do I change from Windows wireless management client to another wireless management client? Windows wireless configuration is the supported method of connecting to the new Buccaneer, security enabled, wireless network. (Why windows)
If you attempt to disable Windows configuration of wireless network by clicking the Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings check box, you will receive a message, At least one of your changes was not applied successfully to the wireless configuration. (displayed below) and the setting will not apply. To change to the Intel PROSet wireless management client you will need to right click on the Intel PROSet icon in the System Tray and select Use Intel PROSet/Wireless or Open the Intel PROSet client and click the Enable Intel PROSet/Wireless button.
