Funded in 1975 as the Pacific Graduate Schl f Psychlgy and first accredited in 1986 by the Western Assciatin f Schls and Clleges (WASC), Pal Alt University tk its current name in 2009 and has adpted the missin f Engaging Minds, Imprving Lives. The FY14-15 budget is $26 millin, with 97% funded thrugh tuitin and 1%-2% funded thrugh grants and cntributins. Pal Alt University has n debt and a small endwment. BASIC FUNCTION The s verarching pririty will be t cntinually and measurably elevate the stature f the University s undergraduate and graduate prgrams, drive student enrllment, and financially strengthen PAU as it pursues its missin. The will shape and versee all plicies and prcedures related t these matters, and will recruit, retain, manage and cultivate a capable team f administratrs and faculty wh are dedicated t the educatinal missin f Pal Alt University. The will wrk t strengthen PAU s reputatin, faculty, prgrams, research and services. This psitin is specifically crafted fr an ambitius leader wh will engage the best creative effrts f the university cmmunity t attain even higher levels f academic achievement and recgnitin. The is als respnsible fr accreditatin and fr the University s relatinships with the varius evaluatin and rating rganizatins, partners and influencers that are critical t PAU s success. The will manage the verall budget fr all academic and nn-academic functins f the University. The will review hw the varius investments in infrastructure, physical assets, research and teaching advance the university s missin, and ensure that limited resurces are wisely managed. Engaging the talents f the Bard and Faculty, the will serve as an articulate and persuasive spkespersn fr PAU and its academic departments and persnnel. The will represent the University and its cnstituent prgrams t a brad range f internal and external cnstituencies, including ther universities and clleges, current and prspective faculty, students, parents and alumni, partner institutins, and members f a brad lcal, natinal and internatinal cmmunity. In particular, the will cultivate strng and supprtive relatinships internally and externally, and a desire amng academic leaders, researchers, faculty and funders t be clsely cnnected with PAU, leveraging web-based articulatin f its academic prgramming, research and accmplishments. The will serve as chief revenue fficer and fundraiser f the University, and will shape bth earned and cntributed revenue prgrams that strengthen PAU financially, minimize debt, build an endwment, fund capital prjects, and prvide the financial resurces needed fr expansin. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Pal Alt University has strategic initiatives designed t meet grwth bjectives and future pprtunities t cnstantly update its missin. T that end, the will be respnsible fr the fllwing: Leadership and Strategy Initiate and implement an inclusive strategic planning prcess, in cllabratin with faculty, staff, students and trustees, t ensure that grwth bjectives and future pprtunities are aligned with the missin; create measurements fr success and pprtunities fr recalibratin. Prvide leadership, which embdies the values that the University uphlds. Financial Management Oversee and manage the business and financial affairs f the University, including preparatin f the annual budget and managing peratins t ensure the cntinued financial viability and health f the institutin.
