Welcome to Learning Carmarthenshire 2 How do I enrol on a course Look carefully through the brochure at the courses available and make your choice(s). Complete the booking form (found in the middle of this brochure) and send it as soon as possible with a cheque for the appropriate fee. Cheques payable to Carmarthenshire County Council and send it to Felinfoel or Carmarthen Community Education Centre. You may also call into one of the centres to enrol and pay in person. How do I get more information on the courses More information can be obtained by contacting the staff at either Felinfoel or Carmarthen Centres or by looking at the website www.carmarthenshire.gov.uk or on the Facebook page: Dysgu SirGar Learning Carmarthenshire How much will the course cost Each course has a cost code listed next to it. Check the cost code table for the course cost. The concessionary fee is for learners who are receiving a means tested benefit. For some of the courses there may be some extra costs for materials. All learners undertaking the courses are expected to pay the relevant fee before the start of the course and enrolment will not be considered final until payment has been made. What if I cannot afford it There is a bursary available to help you to pay for your course fees. This is means tested and you will need to provide us with details of your household income but it could mean that some or all of your fees will be paid. If you wish to apply, contact either Felinfoel or Carmarthen centres for a bursary form. Some courses are run in partnership with Coleg Sir Gâr, marked with a *. Each course has a fixed fee for learners and you may be entitled to help from the Coleg Sir Gâr Financial Contingency Fund for the costs of equipment, childcare and travel. Please do not wait until your course has started! Will my course definitely run... We aim to deliver all courses as advertised in the brochure. However courses may be cancelled, or changed, if enrolments are too low or in the event of unforeseen circumstances. What if I change my mind Once you enrol, refunds will not normally be given to learners who do not continue with their studies. Refunds are at our discretion and where granted will be pro-rata to the number of sessions attended. Costs All the courses are classified into one of the following bands A F. These are highlighted in the table below.
