Configure AirWatch for Your Mobile Device These instructions created using an Android Smartphone AirWatch Mobile Device Management (MDM) Agent is an app that provides faculty and staff secure access to ECU s online resources. It is required for all ECU-owned smartphones and tablets and personal mobile devices that access or store sensitive data. Airwatch can be configured on or off campus. Before getting started, have ready: 1. Apple ID for access to the App Store 2. PirateID/passphrase 3. Organizational Profile (University, Sensitive, Workspace or department-assigned) Step 1. Uninstall your ECU mail account from the device (Sensitive and Workspace). Step 2. Download and install the AirWatch MDM agent (by vmware) from the App Store. This software is free. Once the app is installed, go to Step 3. Step 3. Open AirWatch. Skip the email textbox and, if needed, click to open the Continue without email address dropdown. Enter the following: Server address: https://ecubyod.ecu.edu Group ID: Enter one of the following:* university (most users) sensitive (some users) workspace (some users) department-assigned group *See the website to determine your organizational profile. You should see this screen: Welcome to AirWatch! AirWatch helps your IT Department at work to provide your device with secure access to resources. The following step-by-step process will guide you through configuring your device and ensure it is compliant with policies. Step 4. Enter your ECU credentials PirateID and passphrase - to authenticate your device. Step 5. Select your device s ownership: Corporate-Dedicated; Corporate-Shared; Employeeowned. Step 6. You should now see this message: You will now be prompted to begin installation of the enrollment configuration profile. Wait for the program to continue. If the Install Profile screen does not open, click Tap Here if you are not prompted automatically. Page 2
Step 7. The Install Profile, AirWatch-UniversityiOS-Apple dialog box opens. Press the Install button. If prompted, press Install again. Step 8. Enter the device s current passcode if one is set up. Otherwise, you will be prompted to set one. The next warning screen says: Installing this profile will allow the administrator at https://ecubyod.ecu.edu/device Services/AppleMDM/Processor.aspx to remotely manage your ipad. The administrator may collect personal data, add/remove accounts and restrictions, list, install, and manage apps, and remotely erase data on your ipad. Step 9. Press Install to continue. The profile installation begins. Press Done at the end Page 3
Step 10. After the Organizational Profile installation completes, several profile-appropriate ECU apps are pushed (downloaded) to your device. Examples include the ECU Mobile app, Cisco AnyConnect and Lync messaging. The Sensitive and Workspace profiles will include AirWatch Inbox and AirWatch Browser apps. Follow all prompts and enter your app store ID as appropriate. You will then see this informational screen. Page 4
Step 11. Allow AirWatch to use your current location (or not). Choose OK or Don t Allow. OK allows you to track the location of your device if it is lost or stolen. Step 12. Allow SMS messages. Please choose yes. It allows ITCS administrators to push out important messages to ECU s mobile users. You re done! Once you see this screen, you are finished registering your device with AirWatch.
