TLC 3 Student Mobile Device Configuration Specifications

1 All students are REQUIRED to configure and maintain their mobile devices as outlined in this document. Non-compliance is a violation of District policy and may result in disciplinary action and/or revocation of device use. Student MUST have a valid Apple ID and password before beginning the setup. Click on this link if you need to create an Apple ID 1. Drag slider to the right 2. Select English then tap on the Arrow on the top right Select United States for country and tap on Next on the top right. 4. Select Enable Location Services. Tap on Next. 5. Choose MISDWiFi if you're currently in a McAllen school; otherwise, choose any other network you have access to and skip over to step # If you selected MISDWiFi, enter your six-digit ID number for both Username and Password. Tap on Join Tap on Accept in the Certificate window. 8. Tap on the Next button. 9. Select "Set Up as New ipad" 1

2 10. Tap on "Sign in with an Apple ID". If you didn't create one, go to this site to create one that does not require a credit card: Enter your Apple ID and Password. Tap on Next. 12. Read the Software License Agreement, then tap on Agree. DO NOT SELECT 13. Tap on Agree again on the Terms and Conditions Tap on "Use icloud" to setup it up. Tap on Next. 15. Select "Back Up to icloud". Tap on the Next button. 16. Select "Use Find My ipad" Tap on Next. 17. Select "Automatically Send". Tap on Next. 18. Finally, tap on "Start Using ipad"

3 1. Install the Cisco AnyConnect and Airwatch MDM Agent Apps. Note: you will need to log in with your Apple ID to install. If you forgot your password, go to this site to reset your password: A. Open the App Store on your ipad and type Cisco AnyConnect on the search field. Tap on the Search button on the keyboard. Tap on the FREE button. Enter your Apple ID and password and tap on the OK button. Tap on the INSTALL button. Cisco AnyConnect B. To install AirWatch MDM Agent, Open the App Store, type AirWatch MDM Agent in the search field. Tap Search on the keyboard. Tap on FREE then on INSTALL. 2. Enrolling your mobile device. A. Launch AnyConnect and tap on the OK button to enable software. On your ipad press the Home button to go back to your home screen. Home Button 3

4 B. Launch Safari and enter the following address on the address bar: Tap on Go on the keyboard. C. Enter your 3 digit Group ID on the Group ID field preceded by an "S" for student. See Table to find your campus code. For example, if you are from McHi you will enter S001. Tap on the Continue button to proceed. D. On the next window, enter your 6 digit ID number for both Username and Password. Tap on the Enroll button. E. Installing Profiles 1. Follow the screen instructions to install first set of profiles: Screen 1: Tap on the Install button Screen 2: Tap on the Install Now button Screen 3: Tap on Install button Screen 4: Tap on the Done button Screen 5: Tap on the link: "Tap Here if you are not prompted automatically." 2. Install the second set of profiles. Screen 1: Tap on the Install button Screen 2: Tap on the Install Now button Screen 3: Tap on Install button Screen 4: Tap on the Done button 3. Screen 6 indicates that you have completed the enrollment process successfully. Note: At times, you may have to wait a couple of minutes for the AirWatch Enrollment to actualize. 4

5 F. Setting up your Passcode 1. Launch AirWatch and tap on the OK button to enable Push Notifications. 2. Press the Home button on the device. 3. You will be asked to setup a passcode to unlock your ipad. You will not be prompted to create a passcode if you already created one before. A. Tap on the Continue button to start. B. Enter 4 or more characters. Tap Continue. C. Enter passcode again to verify it. Tap on Save. Home Button G. Enabling AnyConnect 1. Launch AnyConnect 2. Verify that a connection has been established. There must be a check mark next to the name of the connection. 3. If there's no connection, perform step number 2 - Parts B, C, D, and E to Re-Enroll the device. 4. Slide the ON/OFF switch from OFF to ON to turn on the VPN. 5. Status should indicate Connected when a successful connection has been established. Congratulations, you have successfully configured your mobile device. 5
