MyReports Recommended Browser Settings MYR-200a Step by Step Instructions -- How to Change Browser Settings INTERNET EXPLORER 1. Click Tools on the browser menu and select Internet Options from the dropdown list 2. In Browsing history, click the Delete button 3. Check the boxes to delete Temp Internet Files, Cookies, History, and InPrivate filtering data. If applicable, check the top box to preserve any data that you have saved in your Favorites websites. Internet Explorer Browser Settings 4. Next, go to the Security tab; click on the Internet icon; and select Custom level to open the Security Settings options list. 5. Scroll down the list to Downloads and select the Enable radio button for each of the three download options. 6. Scroll down the list to Miscellaneous and select Enable for Allow META REFRESH. 7. Internet Explorer Browser Settings 8. Scroll down the list to the Scripting section and select Enable for Active scripting. 9. Scroll further down the Scripting section to Enable XSS filter, and select Disable. Click the OK button to save all the Internet Security Settings. 10. This takes you back to the Security tab. Now click on the Local intranet icon and select Custom level to open the Security Settings list. 11. Follow Steps 5-9 above to repeat the same security settings in Local intranet that were used for Internet settings. 12. Enter each URL (one at a time) in the upper box, then click the Add button to save it in the trusted websites box: https://motioapp.ucsf.edu https://mrpt.ucsf.edu Click the Close button when complete, to take you back to the Security tab. 14. Now select the Privacy tab and click on the Advanced button. 15. Select the following privacy settings: Check - Override automatic cookie handling Accept - First-party cookies Accept - Third-party cookies Click the OK button, to take you back to the Privacy tab. 16. Chrome Browser Settings CHROME 1. Click the Chrome menu icon on the far right side of the toolbar, and select Settings from the dropdown menu. 2. Chrome opens the Settings screen in a new tab. At the bottom of the Settings screen, click on the Show advanced settings link. 3. In the Privacy section, click on the Content settings button. 4. In the first three sections, select the following: Cookies - Allow local data to be set Images - Show all images JavaScript - Allow all sites to run JavaScript 4/22/2014 MYR-200a Page 6 of 9
Chrome Browser Settings 5. Scroll further down the Content Settings list to the Pop-Ups section, and select Allow all sites to show pop-ups. When complete, click the Done button in the lower right corner. 6. In the Privacy section, click on the Clear browsing data button 7. Select the checkbox for the following items: Browsing history Download history Cached images and files Click the Clear browsing data button. When the selected data has been cleared from the cache, you will be returned to the Settings screen. 8. The Chrome browser setting process is complete. Firefox Browser Settings FIREFOX 1. Click Tools on the browser menu and select Options from the dropdown list. 2. Select Content from the Options menu, and uncheck the Block pop-up windows checkbox. Click the OK button at the bottom of the Content section, which also closes the Options window. 3. Go to Tools > Options (repeat Step 1) to re-open the Options selection window. Select Advanced from the Options menu, and select the Network tab. 4. In the Cached Web Content section: Click the Clear Now button to clear the cache Check the Override automatic cache management checkbox and increase the cache to 1000MB of space Click the OK button when complete. 4/22/2014 MYR-200a Page 8 of 9
Safari Browser Settings SAFARI (Macintosh) 1. Click Safari on the browser menu and select Preferences from the dropdown list. 2. Select Security from the Preferences menu, and check the Enable JavaScript and the Allow Java checkboxes. 3. Select Privacy from the Preferences menu, and choose Never in the Block cookies section. 4. Click Safari on the browser menu and uncheck Block Pop-Up Windows from the dropdown list. Uncheck here 5.
