Connecting Back Home Social Networking Sites/Software Skype, Facebook, Hotmail, Gmail and other social tools are all accessible through the KAUST network Mobiles Mobile phones cannot currently be purchased on campus. This will change once Mobile store in Building 5 is open. Campus Residences Wired Network Each Apartment and Home is connected into the campus network Wireless Wireless routers can be purchased from the IT Store. Your own wireless router can be plugged into the Voice (Phone) network ports IP Television Digital TV 140 free channels in 10 languages Premium Channel Package pay subscription IP Phone Residence phones can call both free local and chargeable international phones. Internet KAUST login account is used to access WiFi Select wireless network: Student * Residences have wired network connectivity You can purchase personal wireless routers from the IT Store for use in Apartments and Homes. Apartments and Homes are quipped with a minimum of 6 active ports for wired internet use (depending on the size of the house)** *For first time WiFi setup on Windows, please visit http://it.kaust.edu.sa ** To have specific and/or additional ports enabled at residence, please contact the IT Service Desk at ithelpdesk@kaust.edu.sa and log a service request ticket. 13
